A PUSHING DAISIES Clue…
Hey Piemakers…Chuck (Kath) here. So I’m just sitting here watching “Pigeon” and stumbled over a scene that I didn’t give all to much pause to when it originally aired, but now in light of Lily’s big revelation in the last episode, has become more interesting.
(Olive is encouraging Vivian to read the message that was attached to the injured pigeon that they helped to fix)
Olive: You know you want to read Pige’s message.
Vivian: Lily would be so displeased. There was an incident . I read something that I shouldn’t have and then life went horribly awry. Lily never forgave me. She said she did, but, she didn’t.
Olive: Wow. Now I’m more interested in that story.
Vivian: [pause] Let’s put Pige back into her house.
Did Vivian perhaps read something pertaining to Chuck’s lineage? I wonder. You would think that since these two sisters were so close that it’s nearly impossible that Vivian didn’t know about her sister’s baby. What else could have Vivian read that displeased Lily so? Thoughts?
Yes! I tried to bring this up long time ago but no one caught on to my comment. I definitely think that dialogue was mysterious, and before the last episode, I thought Vivian had read something of Lily’s that caused them to stop swimming, but with the new evidence, it seems that it also had to do with baby Chuck.
Although, now I’m wondering, did the aunts still swim in their mermaid act when Chuck was little? Maybe Lily didn’t stop because she was pregnant? Anyone know?
wow, nice catch. i never paid to much attention to it (since the show has so many mysteries already). but that certainly is interesting.

Nice catch, Kath! I think there were definitely little clues here and there, and this seems to be one as well.
I think that Vivian probably did know about Chuck’s lineage, but she’s so devoted to Lily that she’s never said anything. Did they live together before they took Chuck in? If so, you’d think it would be hard for Vivian to miss her sister’s pregnancy. Especially if Charles Charles was indeed their brother, and the adult that Lily chose to look after baby Chuck.
The first time I watched that, I didn’t think about it. But then I was watching it just before they took it off the abc website and was like “hmmmm”. So I agree.
I think that comment refers to the “posthumas” postcard from Chuck that Vivian read. After reading the postcard, the two decided to cancel their comeback tour so it caused a step backward for them and really hurt Lily.
Ashes, about the postcard… you may be right but I would think Vivian would say “Lily hasn’t forgiven me yet” instead of “never forgave me” — the latter sounds like it happened more in the distant past, whereas they just read the postcard recently (in the show’s timeline).
