Cheno and McBride Head To FOX

More post-Pushing Daisies casting news…

Earlier this week it was announced that Kristin Chenoweth will have a recurring role on Fox’s GLEE (from Nip/Tuck’s Ryan Murphy).  Glee is a show that I’m dying to see which follows a High School glee club.  The last time Murphy went to high school it was the wickedly delicious POPULAR so I have high hopes.

Today it was announced that Chi McBride has signed on to Fox’s new drama HUMAN TARGET.  Human Target will star Mark Valley (recently on FRINGE) and Bad News Bears WATCHMEN’s Jackie Earle Haley.

Cheno’s Casting News courtesy Michael Ausiello:

Here are two more reasons Fox’s upcoming musicomedy, Glee, has us overjoyed: Kristin Chenoweth and Victor Garber are joining the cast in what will likely turn out to be recurring roles!

Wicked alum Chenoweth, who showed off her awesome pipes on the late, great Pushing Daisies, will play a part that’s as top secret as it is hilarious. (Sorry, that’s all you’re getting out of me.)

Chi’s Casting News courtesy THR.com:

The WBTV-produced “Target” centers on Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), a mysterious freelancer who offers a unique form of security for hire: He assumes the identities of people in danger, becoming the “human target” on behalf of his clients.

McBride will play Chance’s business partner and friend.

Kristin Chenoweth Joins “Legally Mad”

Published by The Pie Maker under Kristin Chenoweth

 Kristin Chenoweth aka Legally Mad

It’s bittersweet news for PUSHING DAISIES fans.  Kristin Chenoweth has just been cast in “Legally Mad”, a new NBC series from David E. Kelley

In “Legally Mad,” Chenoweth is set to play Skippy Pylon, a cheerful and brilliant attorney who nonetheless exhibits flashes of psychosis — and enjoys being mistaken for a teenager.

“I’ve wanted to work with her for a long time and can’t wait to reveal her as someone who’s completely mad,” Kelley said.

“Legally Mad,” which is set at a Chicago law practice, reps the first major project to come out of Kelley’s deal with Warner Bros. TV, which is producing the show.

We wish nothing but the best for Kristin, but we will surely miss Olive Snook.

Enter to Win!! Kristin Chenoweth’s “A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas”

Kristin Chenoweth- “A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas”

As we cozy up to the holiday season, what better way to celebrate than with the musical stylings of Kristin Chenoweth. Kristin recently released her third album, “A Lovely Way to Spend Christimas” just in time to get us raise our holiday spirits. On the album, Chenoweth covers a wide range of Christmas songs from “Christmas Island,” popularized by The Andrew’s Sisters to Kristin’s personal favorite “Come On Ring Those Bells.”

In addition to well-known Christmas classics such as “Silver Bells” and “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” Chenoweth reinterprets Louis Armstrong’s modern standard “What A Wonderful World” and children’s favorite “Sing,” (originally written for Sesame Street’s loveable Big Bird) into Christmas songs.

On choosing to record a Christmas album Chenoweth says “From the minute I signed with Sony Classical eight years ago, I wanted to record a Christmas album. I grew up listening to Barbra Streisand’s Christmas album, and that was such an inspiration to me. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I am blessed and excited to be able to do my own Christmas album.”

The Pie Maker has been given five copies of “A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas” to share with some lucky readers. Enter to win and make Kristin part of your holiday celebrations.

To Enter:

Share with us your favorite holiday tune and tell us why it’s so special to you.

“A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas” is available in stores and online now, so stop what you’re doing and go support the music of Olive Snook. It’s a must have for PUSHING DAISIES fans!!
