TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello is reporting that PUSHING DAISIES creator Bryan Fuller informed him that “the show’s ninth episode — the last one for which a script is written — can function as a season finale in the event the strike extends into the new year and beyond.”
“As we were scrambling to rewrite [Episode 9],” he reveals, “we added several elements that will put many balls into the air and hopefully encourage the audience to come back and see how they land.”
Fuller confirms that production on the potential season finale got under way today, which means “our crew will now be able to work through Thanksgiving.”
Good news of course for the cast and crew but sad news to think that this amazing show might only see nine of its intended 22 episodes during its first season.

PUSHING DAISIES is holding somewhat steady with just a little drop off this week. Come on Daisy Pushers, we need to see an increase in viewers from week to week. Get out there and spread the word!!
NBC’s established Deal or No Deal was the most-watched show at 8 p.m. (with its best rating among adults 18-49 since December 11, 2006), but week three of ABC’s Pushing Daisies led among adults 18-49. Take a look:
Wednesday 8 p.m.

Pushing Daisies (ABC)

ABC just released a new PUSHING DAISIES promo that contains scenes from episode 1.02 titled “The Fun in Funeral“. Don’t forget to stop by ThePieMaker.com on Wednesday, October 17th to discuss the episode.
Episode Summary: When an automotive expert is found dead (ironically enough) after a strange hit-and-run accident, Ned suspects there’s more to the story, especially when he finds out the deceased worked for a company about to launch an experimental car. Meanwhile, Chuck wants some answers about how Ned brought her back to life.
Summary: Ned, a mild-mannered baker of fabulous pies, discovered as a child that he had a unique gift. Ned had the ability to return someone dead briefly back to life with just a simple touch. Through the years, Ned has learned to live with his unique ability, and puts his gift to good use, working with his only friend, a private investigator, to crack murder cases by asking victims to name their killers. But the tale gets complicated, as all tales do, when he saves his childhood sweetheart and she miraculously stays alive. Life would be perfect, except for one cruel twist: if Ned ever touches her again, she’ll lose the life he gave her, for good this time. There’s always a catch…
