Kristin Chenoweth- “A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas”

As we cozy up to the holiday season, what better way to celebrate than with the musical stylings of Kristin Chenoweth. Kristin recently released her third album, “A Lovely Way to Spend Christimas” just in time to get us raise our holiday spirits. On the album, Chenoweth covers a wide range of Christmas songs from “Christmas Island,” popularized by The Andrew’s Sisters to Kristin’s personal favorite “Come On Ring Those Bells.”

In addition to well-known Christmas classics such as “Silver Bells” and “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” Chenoweth reinterprets Louis Armstrong’s modern standard “What A Wonderful World” and children’s favorite “Sing,” (originally written for Sesame Street’s loveable Big Bird) into Christmas songs.

On choosing to record a Christmas album Chenoweth says “From the minute I signed with Sony Classical eight years ago, I wanted to record a Christmas album. I grew up listening to Barbra Streisand’s Christmas album, and that was such an inspiration to me. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I am blessed and excited to be able to do my own Christmas album.”

The Pie Maker has been given five copies of “A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas” to share with some lucky readers. Enter to win and make Kristin part of your holiday celebrations.

Awesome! I had no idea she was releasing this. My favorite song has to be Sleigh Ride, ever since I played it in my high school orchestra.

My favorite holiday song is “Carol of the Bells”. There are so many different versions and each one is so unique. It’s almost melancholy yet joyful at the same time. It mirrors the winter season and the glorious holiday perfectly.

  3. Suson 23 Nov 2008 at 4:06 pm

My favorite holiday song is Silver Bells because I live in the country and I’ve always loved the images of the holiday season in the city with the streetlamps and people bustling everywhere. :) It’s just a beautiful song, anyway.

i’m glad i came across your site. and what a nice giveaway…especially for this time of year & such tough times!

i also didnt know she was releasing an xmas cd…and would love to get it. she is magical! and i was soooo devastated to hear that PD is being canceled…such a loss!! i hope they are still planning on doing the soundtrack. and hope season 2 will still come out on blu ray (no other way to see it…saving for season 1 now, wish i already had it)

as for my fave xmas song…pretty much any of them. but if i have to pick 1 only, it would probably be “silent night”. just cause its sooo beautiful & such a classic. and i have such found memories of singing w/ my family every holiday…as well as caroling w/ my high school choir. fun memories!

    happy holidays to all!!

I love and collect Christmas music, so it’s very hard to pick just a single favorite song. My favorite album is probably one of the classic old Perry Como albums because that was the one we’d always put on the record player after it snowed for the first time each fall or winter.

I’m also partial to “Oh Little Town of Bethlehem” and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear”.

My favorite is a tie between White Christmas and It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas. I’m a sucker for the older songs. I’d listen to Christmas music all year long if I didn’t think my hubby would kill me for doing it. Of course, then if Ned would just touch me, I could come back to life and listen to some more music. LOL!

My favorite holiday song is anything on Bing Crosby’s “Merry Christmas” record. Yes, RECORD…none of that fancy schmancy CD stuff on Christmas! For the sake of specificity, I’d have to go with Bing’s version of “White Christmas.” It just reminds me of every Christmas morning at home. I’d wake up Christmas morning to the smell of “breakfast casserole” (which my mom only makes on Thanksgiving and Christmas) and the sound of Bing Crosby’s Christmas record playing in the living room. Now that I am off on my own, 1200 miles from home, that song always brings back happy memories :)

Love PD & Kristin! Such a shame about the cancellation. =(

My fave Christmas song would have to be “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” because it is such a joy to hear & sing. It is just fun & definitely gets me in the holiday spirits. Christmas music is my favorite anyway, I look forward to it so much!

    Happy Holidays

My favorite Christmas song is “O Holy Night.” I have a soft spot for Martina McBride’s version, because when I was younger, it was just my mom and I, and she was working a couple of different jobs, and things were financially hard for us. So we never had much on Christmas, but my mom did her best to make it happy and cheerful. There was always Christmas music playing, usually Martina McBride’s Christmas album, and we would always be silly and dance to all the fun songs, and she would always pick me up and we would sing “O Holy Night” together. It has a special place in my heart, even today.

  10. Benjaminon 23 Nov 2008 at 4:23 pm

My fave holiday song would be any from the South Park holiday soundtrack. Because its unique & makes me laugh and smile. I like traditional stuff but why not like something different & offbeat. But I am sure some of Kristin’s would become my new faves because her voice is incredible! That will be 1 of the things I miss the most when Pushing Daisies is gone.

  11. Lynnon 23 Nov 2008 at 4:41 pm

My favorite holiday song is “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, as sung by Judy Garland in the move ‘Meet Me In St.Louis’.

While there are many songs I could’ve picked from, this one has always managed to pull at my heartstrings and give meaning to the idea of Family, and the togetherness that the Christmas Season always seems to bring.

    Judy Garland’s voice is stunning.
The lyrics make me look towards the next year ahead with a higher hopes and it lets me remember those people who can’t be with me any longer, but always manage to linger in spirit.

  12. Impsyon 23 Nov 2008 at 6:09 pm

“Marshmallow World” by Darlene Love. It’s from the Phil Specter Christmas album, which we listen to every year around Christmas - we just put it on repeat. It’s such a happy bouncy song and I remember dancing around the house to it with my family. :) This is my first Christmas away from them but I’m still planning on listening to that CD over and over!

  13. Digbyon 23 Nov 2008 at 6:10 pm

I don’t partake in any organized religion, but I learned to play the piano from my grandmother - who was a church organist. We used to play duets for holiday events in my hometown and for family gatherings. “Joy to the World” is the carol which reminds me of her the most and one of my favorites. (For modern favorites, “Walking in Seattle Latte-Land” is tops… but that’s probably a regional thing.)

Thanks to Kristin for making a Christmas album! Can’t wait to hear it.

  14. Manuelon 23 Nov 2008 at 6:14 pm

All I Want For Christmas (Love Actually Version). Great movie, great song.

  15. Reneeon 23 Nov 2008 at 6:28 pm

Manuel, I believe the version you’re thinking of is the Mariah Carey one.

I adore “Drive the Cold Winter Away” sung by Loreena McKennit. I’m not certain who wrote it originally. It’s quite somber, and more winter than Christmas, but I am Pagan, after all. Her voice draws you into a world of lush, wild winter imagery, lulling you into a hot chocolate, fireside induced catnap and reminds you of, not only the beauty that Christmas time and winter bring, but also that the Spring and Summer will come again; that life is ever growing and changing.

Well, that’s what Christmas is to me, anyway. *^_^*

  16. Katieon 23 Nov 2008 at 6:59 pm

I love Christmas, and all manner of Christmas carols, so this is a very tough choice for me. But, I think no matter what Christmas songs I hear, Silver Bells will always be my favorite.

It’s a song about hope, joy, excitement, celebration, people, and above all love. And to me, that’s what Christmas is about. To me Silver Bells is the purest embodiment of the holiday. It doesn’t attempt describe Christmas, but rather it describes the feeling of Christmas and how indescribable it is.

  17. Vion 23 Nov 2008 at 8:53 pm

One of my favourite Christmas tunes has got to be ‘Christmas Time is Here’ from the ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ soundtrack. It’s so beautiful and definitely reminds me of Christmas. Actually, all the songs on the soundtrack are fantastic.

  18. DBon 23 Nov 2008 at 9:26 pm

I would have to say my favorite Christmas song is God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen as performed by Mannheim Steamroller. It is a song played by my high school’s band every year; the first year the students loved it so much they asked to play it again the following year. When they were told no, they waited until the concert was over and then started playing it without a conductor, because it is that much fun.

It’s one of the most fun and enjoyable music pieces I’ve ever played; a classic Christmas song with a passionate rock beat but a fantastic brass and string sound. It is just so full of body and energy; the beginning is reminiscent of the excitement of Christmas and eventually settles down to the eagerness and magic of Christmas eve… Maybe that sounds silly, but that feeling is why it’s my favorite song, only made better by the fact that my best friends love it so much as well.

  19. Simoneon 23 Nov 2008 at 9:45 pm

I love “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole. It’s the song that gets me shaking with anticipation for the holiday. It’s calming and warm. His voice is also so distinct. I don’t think it’s possible for this song to get lost in the mass of Christmas songs out there. I also love Nat King Cole’s intro to the song on his album when he sends well wishes to everyone listening.

  20. Karen Son 23 Nov 2008 at 9:51 pm

I love ‘Silent Night’ - such a calming, peaceful song.

  21. Kimon 23 Nov 2008 at 10:29 pm

O Holy Night. It’s just a gorgeous song that captures the wonder of Christmas.

  22. Kimberon 23 Nov 2008 at 10:32 pm

Ooh … a free Cheno CD! I was going to buy this album, but I’ll see if I can win it here first.

My favourite Christmas song has got to be “O Holy Night”, which is funny for an almost-atheist. But it’s such a gorgeous song, and it gives me warm, fuzzy feelings when I hear it. A close second is “What Child Is This”, also because of the gorgeous melody.

  23. Jesson 23 Nov 2008 at 10:48 pm

Wow! THis actually soudns liek a pretty good Christmas album. Watching the video, she had amazing control of her voice. She sounds so much prettier when doing the softer tones than the operatic stuff, mind you shes good either way!

  24. Oliviaon 23 Nov 2008 at 11:14 pm

I love “Santa Baby” its spunky and fun, It’s so much fun to listen to :P

  25. Janaon 24 Nov 2008 at 12:33 am

My favorite Christmas song is from the Osmond Family Christmas Album (circa 1975) “If Santa Were My Daddy”

My mom made me and my 4 sisters dress up as Santa and sing this at every family/church/neighborhood event for miles around. We did this at least 6 years in a row.

I still remember the choreography 25 years later!

  26. Moniqueon 24 Nov 2008 at 1:14 am

My favorite Christmas song would have to be ‘Christmas Time is Here.’ It’s classic. It brings back fond memories of childhood spent watching the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. Unfortunately, Charlie is on ABC and as far as I’m concerned ABC can suck one.

  27. Sashaon 24 Nov 2008 at 2:19 am

My favorite Christmas song is “Sleigh Bells”. There’s this great version by Charlotte Church and Billy Gilman that made me fall in love with it! My sister and I always sing it together in the car when the holidays are approaching. It such an upbeat, amazing song that now has so many memories attached that every time I hear it I get that great holiday shiver of excitement. I made sure to include it on the Christmas mix I made (”Sasha’s Ultimate Christmas Mixx”).

  28. Megan P.on 24 Nov 2008 at 4:20 am

My favorite Christmas song is “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).” At eleven years old I had known little to nothing about John Lennon or the Beatles, but when our sixth grade teacher decided that our class should perform “Happy Xmas” at the annual school Christmas concert I was given a crash course.

Our class studied the song inside and out for a full month, singing it with more meaning as time went on. By the time we performed it in the school auditorium in mid-December every one of us had agreed to donate $10 worth of canned goods to the local food bank in lieu of our usual “secret Santa” gift swap. Between the 22 students in our class we managed to collect nearly 400 cans of canned soups, fruits, meats, and vegetables; more than our entire K-12 rural school had managed to collect in the years before.

Even though I’d been taught that it was “better to give than to receive” from the day I was born, that song mixed with John Lennon’s philosophies of peace somehow managed to drive that idea home to me and my classmates in the span of a single month. For that reason alone, “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” will always be the Christmas song that is most special to me.

  29. Jenniferon 24 Nov 2008 at 12:43 pm

It’s fairly obscure, but “One More Dream ‘Til Christmas” is my favorite. It was on an old children’s cassette I had…and was the last song I ever sang for my grandmother, before she passed away in Feb 1996. My heart aches, especially this time of year, but this song reminds me when I could at least hold her hand and let her know how much she meant to me. *smiles*

  30. katieon 24 Nov 2008 at 1:20 pm

my favorite holiday song is Santa on the rooftop by Trisha Yearwood and Rosie O’Donnell. haha

when i used to live w/ my aunt and uncle they would always play that song on like christmas eve or christmas day and i’d ALWAYS get up and want to sing and dance to it for all of my family. they even ended up videoing me coercing my brother into dancing, too!! and shoving him up a latter so we could see everyone and be at more attention. (i was like five or something so i was very short. )

the song is fun to sing along to and you obviously don’t have to have a good voice… ;-). every time i hear it now i start to smile and sing along. i had forgotten about it for a couple years because i moved away from them but i was thinking about christmas and remembered, looked it up on itunes and then bought it. i even remembered almost all the lyrics even after not having heard it in forever!

that’s my favorite, and always will be, my favorite holiday song!

    :) Katie B.

  31. Kimon 24 Nov 2008 at 1:37 pm

I’m not sure all of the songs are on Kristin’s CD, but I’ve always loved the Bing Crosby classics like “White Christmas” and “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.” My favorite has to be “Mele Kalikimaka” since my family spend a couple Christmases in Hawaii when I was little, and it brings back fond memories of a tropical Christmas.

I’m also partial to “Grandma got Runover by a Reindeer.” :)

Looking forward to hearing Kristin’s CD, and maybe it will come to my stocking from The Piemaker!

  32. Rhubarbon 24 Nov 2008 at 2:40 pm

Oh, this is so difficult to pick one cuz i enjoy them all…

But I have a special fondness for ‘Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming’ for a couple of reasons. When I was in 9th grade, i was picked to represent my school at a large music competition and sing this song as my first solo! I was nervous as he#*, but I got through it, and I got a good reaction - so much so, that I was encouraged keep singing and competing…up to University where I studied voice and considered a career in it. Then I quit to follow a different career that I equally love. ‘Lo…’ respresents the ‘what if…?’ in my life - in a good way. Plus, this song is just beautiful and poetically presented in melody and lyrics.

A close 2nd would be ‘The Holly and the Ivy’. (I’m not sure if either of these songs are very familiar to people?) It’s very beautiful and it’s a little complex b/c people have always debated the meaning of its lyrics. Kathleen Battle and Frederica von Stade (two big gun sopranos in the opera world) perform a fantastic duet of it on a Carnegie Hall Christmas CD. There’s also a version of it that George Winston (piano player) plays that his fans all over the world try to learn cuz it’s so marvelous - i just found this out from youtube. = ) Those are my to faves I guess. Happy Thanksgiving all!!

  33. tonion 24 Nov 2008 at 3:47 pm

I would have to say that my favorite Christmas song is “Baby it’s cold outside”. No real version in particular… there have been recent remixes and all different genres created. Still, the song gives me chills and reminds me of a time that was simple. The lyrics remind me of the importance of spending time together and while I love all Christmas songs, it is also offers a break for the traditional religious songs of the season (such as O Holy Night, a very close second of mine!).

  34. Shawnaon 24 Nov 2008 at 3:51 pm

My favorite holiday song would have to be “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” It makes me want to snuggle up with someone special, drink hot cocoa, and warm our toes.

  36. Julie Barmanon 24 Nov 2008 at 4:14 pm

My favorite song is “Jingle Bell Rock”. I’m Jewish, so Christmas Carols were frowned upon in my household growing up. (I love them as an adult, though!) “Jingle Bell Rock” was secular enough that I could get away with it, and hearing it still cheers me up and puts me in a holiday spirit.

  37. Pie Loveron 24 Nov 2008 at 5:11 pm

Oh how cruel!!! Haha no offense but I absolutely LOVE Christmas songs! I could honestly listen to them all year long. Asking me to pick a favorite Christmas song is like asking me to pick a favorite PUSHING DAISIES episode. There’s so many amazing ones that I really enjoy and love so I really couldn’t choose, a Christmas song, or Pushing Daisies episode! I love ALL of them!

  38. joni allegoon 24 Nov 2008 at 5:12 pm

My favorite holiday song is I’ll be home for Christmas. It makes me recall the wonder Christmases I had as a child. My mother is no longer with me, so when I hear the song it makes me think of her and how I miss her.

  39. D-Annaon 24 Nov 2008 at 5:15 pm

I really can’t choose between White Christmas and I’ll be home for Christmas because they’re both favorites from the movie White Christmas. I have fond memories of watching White Christmas with my family each Christmas 30 years ago, so I can’t choose between those two, so they’re both my favorite!

  40. TrEvAon 24 Nov 2008 at 5:24 pm

I’d have to say that my favorite Christmas song is “Mele Kalikimaka” (A Hawaiian Christmas Song). Well first of all it has such a great catchy toon that never leaves your head and you have to sing it over and over again. Like Birdhouse in Your Soul, I was singing that for days after”Pigeon” haha! But when I was a little kid I always wondered how “Santa’s” sleigh went to Hawaii because there’s no snow to sleigh on haha! So I always thought they must make snow or something or Santa’s sleigh was just magical and made snow as it flew or something:) So then I heard “Mele Kalikimaka” and it explained that Christmas there is green and bright but they still have it haha. Kind of silly but that song brings back fun memories!!!

  43. Brendan Veermanon 24 Nov 2008 at 8:43 pm

My favorite Christmas song would have to be a toss up between “O, Holy Night” and “Greensleeves.” The chief reason that I like them is probably because I have a strong sentimental tie to them.

In high school, it was tradition to close the Christmas choir concert with a sweeping arrangement of “O, Holy Night” and I would get goosebumps nearly every time I heard/sang it. I played “Greensleeves” in Wind Ensemble in high school as well. It has such a beautiful melody and this was another beautiful arrangement, and given the fact that we played it in Europe on tour makes it even more special to me.

  44. Peasanton 24 Nov 2008 at 10:04 pm

Silent Night is my fave. It always leaves me in the Christmas spirit.
A close 2nd is “River” by Joni Mitchell. But, All I want for Christmas is the renewal of PUSHING DAISIES!

  45. Amandaon 24 Nov 2008 at 10:10 pm

My favorite Christmas song is “Jingle Bells.” This was a favorite song to sing with my dad and little brother. My dad was kind of a goofy dude, and he would always sing the song in a silly way. We sang it in the car, around the house, everywhere. Christmas was my dad’s favorite time of year, and he loved to sing with me. Since my dad’s passing I’ve loved Christmas even more. I feel closer to my father around the holidays, and I love to listen to “Jingle Bells” and think of him.

  46. Ameliaon 24 Nov 2008 at 11:32 pm

The Christmas song most special to me is O Holy Night.
My younger sister has been taking music lessons from a very young age. A couple years ago, she was given this song to sing solo at a concert. It was the first time I realized how beautiful her voice was and what a gift she had.
When I was away from home last Christmas, listening to this song made me tear up, because it will always be forever linked with her.

  47. Dianaon 25 Nov 2008 at 12:05 am

One of my favorite Christmas songs is “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” I think I first heard Bert and Ernie sing it on Sesame Street. The song brings back good memories from my childhood.

  48. Jennyon 25 Nov 2008 at 9:45 am

My favorite Christmas tune is Silent Night. When you strip away the commercialism and stop to remember what Christmas is about, Silent Night sums it up quite nicely and it makes you feel calm and peaceful while listening to it, which is very much needed while your racing around preparing for the holiday. 3 minutes of peace and quiet all in one little song.

My favorite song is “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” as sung by Judy Garland. There’s a quiet meloncholy in her lovely voice that reminds me of yearning for childhood memories of Christmas and that special certain wonderment that seems to get lost in the “grown up” versions of the holidays.

  58. melissalouiseon 26 Nov 2008 at 5:16 pm

I can’t wait to hear more of Kristin’s Christmas Album. She could put an original spin on anything- even classic Christmas music.

As much as I do love Christmas tunes, there’s one that is more beautiful and special to me than any other- “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” I first heard it on the Muppet’s CD with John Denver (haha, no really) when I was 6 or 7 and I loved it immediately for its simple but genuine sentiments. Now, I’m in a 16-person ensemble that sings 30 gigs around Destin, Florida each Christmas. Traditionally, we sing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” every year, and it has always been the favorite of my best friend, Sydney, and I. However, for some reason, we did not sing it last year, and I missed it dreadfully. Earlier this year, my best friend and I had a spat. I had done something stupid and hadn’t found the right way to apologize to her. The day of our dispute, our choral director instructed us to hand out “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” and we began to sing. I sang the words to Sydney and she sang them to me. It was like I had the chance to apologize to her, saying “From now on our troubles will be out of sight.” By the time we sang, “Through the years we all will be together if the fates allow,” we were both in tears and the argument was more than forgotten.

Ah, thank you for letting me tell that story. I feel all warm and Christmas-y now, hehe. But, I won’t lie, Sydney and I are both ridiculous Cheno fans, and her Christmas album would certainly help encourage those warm and Christmas-y feelings, haha.

Take care and long live the piemaker.

I would have to say that “The 12 Days of Christmas” is one of my all time favorite Christmas songs!!! I’ve loved that song ever since I was little because together my family always try to do the 12 days of Christmas to someone each December and it’s so much fun. So this song always makes me think of that.
Also it is just such a fun song to sing to and try to memorize.
It’s just a great song all around.

I love “Pushing Daisies;” it’s such a great show!
My favorite Christmas song is “Silent Night.” My family is very close, but several years ago my father’s workplace laid off 600 employees. My dad tried finding a job nearby, but he could only find a job in Massachusetts. Although he would call my family every night, it was hard not to be able to see him. He couldn’t come down that often, so we only saw him twice a year for four years. Christmas was coming around, but he said he didn’t have enough vacation time to be able to come down and visit us. My siblings and I were very upset. However, come Christmas Eve, we heard a very familiar voice singing “Silent Night” on our porch…and it was my dad! My dad managed to find a job near where we live, and so he quit the one in Massachusetts in time for him to be home. It kind of became my favorite song afterwards; it always reminds me of hope.

“In the Bleak Midwinter” is a Christmas carol, written by Christina Rossetti before 1872, set to the music by Gustav Holst, to the piece called Cranham. This is one of my favorites on the album on “A Winter Symphony” by Sarah Brightman.

    “What can I give him,
    Poor as I am?
    If I were a shepherd
    I would bring a lamb,
If I were a wise man
    I would do my part,
Yet what I can I give Him —
    Give my heart.”

There are a ton of Christmas songs that I’m pretty fond of despite how my family never really celebrated the holiday with any sort of extravaganza. That said, most of them aren’t really standards I suppose (even if there are some that I do still like)

Oi to the World by The Vandals (and eventually No Doubt) ranks pretty high up there for being about gang/lower-middle class violence and racial strife but still ending up being about unity and doing right by others after getting shivved. Plus I think it’s kind of neat to have a poppy ska song in winter!

(This song really competed with “Song for Ten” from Doctor Who since I’m a geek though ^_^ )

Kristin Chenowethâ??s â??A Lovely Way to Spend …Here’s a quick excerptThe lyrics remind me of the importance of spending time together and while I love all Christmas songs, it is also offers a break for the traditional religious songs of the season (such as O Holy Night, a very close second of mine!). … […]

I LOVE KC! My favorite song has to be “Mary Did You Know” because ever since I was a kid I’ve loved to listen to it, and everytime I listen to it now it really reminds me of the true meaning of Christmas, and why it is such an important holiday. It makes me forget about Santa and all the commercialism and brings the image of Christ to the forefront of my mind =D

The Holly & The Ivy……..I just love the melody

I have 2 different ones. “Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Carol of the Bells.”

I LOVE Most Wonderful Time of the Year because it reminds me of cities, and growing up in a big city and making a trip to New York City every year at Christmas. It makes me appriciate the city more.

Carol of the Bells is the first song I learned in Chorus as an alto, so it has kind of a special thing. I can’t sing the whole song though, because I only have the alto parts memorized ;)

“Children Go Where I send thee” from the Cabbage Patch Christmas album (cheesy, I know) because I have great memories of my dad and I singing it when I was little.

“Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” by Relient K because that’s the song my boyfriend and I slowdanced to at his house right before he said that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me.

I LOVE every song on the John Denver and the Muppets Christmas album- so many memories of decorating the tree to it. I mean, how can you beat Animal screaming in the background? Or Miss Piggy getting confused that they’re talking about piggy pudding, not figgy pudding? But my favorite on the album is “A Baby Just Like You”.

The first A Very Special Christmas, I love getting to hear rockers- get outside their normal selves with traditional songs.

I love Christmas music and I love Kristen…what a lovely combo! :) My favorite Christmas song is O Holy Night. I just think it’s a beautiful song with a lovely message.

  73. hanncollon 05 Dec 2008 at 3:46 pm

    Ooh, I adore her! :)

I love Christmas music in general, but if I have to choose a favorite one…ooh, this is hard. I’ll go with the David Bowie/Bing Crosby version of “Little Drummer Boy,” because I still can’t believe the two of them got together on that song.

Christmas is my favorite time of year!!! And no Christmas would be complete without Bing Crosby singing White Christmas. Every time I hear that song it transports me to my living room on a snowy Christmas morning and fills me with every wonderful Christmas memory I have.

White Christmas is my favorite Christmas song of all times. From as long as I can remember that movie has been a tradition in my family during the holidays. We watch it putting up the tree, and many many more times by Christmas. Anytime I hear White Christmas it brings me back to those great family times!

Is it sad that one of my absolute favorites is Sesame Street - A True Blue Miracle?

My mom’s always loved it, and I never really liked it, but a few years ago, I listened to it again, and its just, its cute and silly and happy and really puts me in the holiday spirit.

Just again proving that I’m really 4 years old at heart.

I love “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey.

    I win!

My favorite song is I’ll be home for Christmas.
I work at a Casino in Las Vegas and don’t get to go home for Christmas so this song means a lot to me. I love Christmas and feel it is a great time for family and friends. It is also a time when people are a little nicer to each other. I always try to get home as much as possible especially during Christmas.
Ever since I started watching Pushing Daisies I thought that Kristin was great and when I heard her sing I got a great big smile. She makes me feel good when I hear her sing.
Love the show and hope ABC doesn’t cancel it.
