Aww … what a cute puppy! Also, not sure what to think of Emerson’s shirt, and why he’s bound on the table! Looks like a good one, though.

  2. Susanon 30 Oct 2007 at 3:39 pm

I wonder if Digby will have a part in the crime solving team for this episode…

  3. Katon 02 Nov 2007 at 4:04 pm

K-18? Is the dog twice as good as a normal K-9?

  4. lison 02 Nov 2007 at 8:02 pm

WHY?????? WHY does Ned kiss OLIVE…. WHY???? I don’t know if I can watch this episode!

  5. Asheson 03 Nov 2007 at 2:16 pm

    *crosses fingers*

Please be a dream sequence…please be a dream sequence.

  6. Ashon 04 Nov 2007 at 10:14 pm

i don’t know- i don’t think it’s a dream… i hope it is for chuck’s sake, but i think it’s real, but i don’t want to wait the two weeks to find out!

  7. Amandaon 08 Nov 2007 at 10:20 am

I love animals so I am VERY anxious to see this episode… even though Olive kisses Ned! What is that about?!?

  8. Mandyon 08 Nov 2007 at 12:18 pm

I am absolutly obssed with this show and I’m not sure I can wait a whole 2 weeks! I really hope Olive doesn’t kiss Ned. Or that Ned pulls away from it. I love Olive she is my favorite character because I love Kristin. But Chuck and Ned are just too cute!

  9. Kimberon 14 Nov 2007 at 5:01 pm

Wahh! I won’t be home when it airs :( But I’ll be taping it and I’ll hop in when I’ve finished viewing so I can see what all of your thoughts were! (And share mine!).

  10. Nedon 14 Nov 2007 at 8:43 pm

I don’t know if I can watch at 8 because my iPhone got fried in a power surge and now its not working and I’m having a flipping freakout!

I’ll jump on when I can. Yeah, Pushing Daisies will help ease my way too expensive technology glitch pain.

  11. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 8:58 pm

Is anyone else feeling almost nervous for the new episode? lol.

  12. Chuck (Kath)on 14 Nov 2007 at 9:00 pm

That opening was equally HOT and disturbing.

  13. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 9:09 pm

It left me with about five minor heart attacks.

  14. Chemengrgalon 14 Nov 2007 at 9:12 pm

Yeah, I almost died when Chuck fell on Ned. The writers need to stop giving me heart attacks! These encounters are a little too close for comfort! But then that kiss what HOT so I feel better… :)

  15. Chuck (Kath)on 14 Nov 2007 at 9:14 pm

In case there are any Gilmore Girls fans out there, the gazebo shown was the same one as Stars Hollow.

  16. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 9:25 pm

I love how Emerson responded to the clicker.

  17. Chuck (Kath)on 14 Nov 2007 at 9:29 pm

OMG!! The lead that Digby is wearing is from a company called MASCOT (mymascot.com) which just happens to be co-owned by my best friend Steph!!!!!! What an awesome coincidence!!

  18. Ashon 14 Nov 2007 at 9:33 pm

omg, i just missed the first half of the show! (i should really set an alarm for this). can anybody fill me in?

  19. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 9:34 pm

I love Chuck and Ned’s relationship. The fact that Chuck would even suggest Ned be polygamous was so sweet…in context.

  20. Ashon 14 Nov 2007 at 9:38 pm

    ok, weird dream sequence.

  21. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 9:39 pm

This whole episode is full of weird dream sequences.

  22. Ashon 14 Nov 2007 at 9:41 pm

was the kiss a dream or no? (the one btw. Olive and Ned from the trailer)

  23. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 9:42 pm

Yes, it was a dream, thankfully.

  24. Chemengrgalon 14 Nov 2007 at 9:43 pm

The kiss between Olive and Ned was a dream

  25. Ashon 14 Nov 2007 at 9:44 pm

awww, i was wrong. but that’s still great for ned and chuck’s sake

  26. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 9:45 pm

sort of. Of course, there’s always the emotional reprocussions of a dream like that.

  27. Chuck (Kath)on 14 Nov 2007 at 9:48 pm

Ok all the ASH and ASHES is really confusing me. I didn’t love Emerson’s dream sequence.

  28. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 9:50 pm

It was a little surreal. Even for this show.

  29. Ashon 14 Nov 2007 at 9:50 pm

i could change my name, but that would just confuse me :)

  30. Chemengrgalon 14 Nov 2007 at 9:51 pm

How did Emerson escape from being tied up by Simone? I missed that part…

  31. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 9:51 pm

Same here. I’ve gotten used to seeing it up there. If I changed it, I wouldn’t know what I’d said. ;-)

  32. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 9:52 pm

He broke out of the chains. Something about a childhood fear. I missed part of that.

  33. Ashon 14 Nov 2007 at 9:53 pm

childhood fear- he was locked in a laundry room (?) for two nights straight, and has a fear of the dark.

  34. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 9:57 pm

Are we seeing a love interest for Emerson?

  35. Chemengrgalon 14 Nov 2007 at 10:01 pm

Dude, I was totally tearing up at the end… Ned and Chuck are SO cute together… “All I need to be happy is you” OMG…

  36. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 10:03 pm

I know. Major AWWWWWW moment. ^-^ It was so sweet. And I’m glad Olive isn’t as jealous any more. Hearing her say she just wanted Ned to be happy made me like her, finally. And there was no hint of the usual spite when she and Chuck were talking.

  37. Ashon 14 Nov 2007 at 10:04 pm

i’m happy about olive’s change in attitude too, it would have gotten a bit boring if for the whole time she was just chasing after ned.

  38. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 10:08 pm

Yeah, I was glad to see they weren’t going to use the old worn out love triangle theme. It’s nice to see them taking a different approach.

  39. Ashleyon 14 Nov 2007 at 10:16 pm

Does anyone know the quote at the very end Ned said about dreams/wants/needs?
    It was so cute!

  40. Andreaon 14 Nov 2007 at 10:18 pm

How many more shows until the end? Nice “Vertigo” nod there in Emerson’s dream. Too bad about Olive. I really like her with Ned but maybe soon the aromatherapy guy or someone who appreciates her will come by and sweep her off her little feet. And Paul Reubens next week??? Yay!

  41. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 10:19 pm

we’ll may have to wait until it comes out on abc.com. I don’t remember it. (I’m curious what is up with the “ash” theme. Fitting for the episode, though. hehe.)

  42. Kaiton 14 Nov 2007 at 10:22 pm

The part of Emerson’s dream with just his head made me think of classic Doctor Who opening titles. :D

And I’m glad that this isn’t just going to remain a love triangle. I want to see Chuck and Olive as friends. And Ned’s dream was the funniest thing I’ve seen in…..two weeks. :D

  43. Asheson 14 Nov 2007 at 10:30 pm

Chuck needs a female friend. I liked seeing them have that chat. I thought it was sweet Olive told Chuck about the kiss. I was really surprised she did. I wonder if Olive will ever find out the real reason Ned and Chuck can’t touch.

  44. Ashleyon 14 Nov 2007 at 10:38 pm

This was the first time I ever watched this show. I always wanted to watch it, but I never can remember when it’s on or I’m working. I’m glad I got to see it though!

  45. Chuck (Kath)on 14 Nov 2007 at 10:41 pm

You mean to tell me we have an ASH, ASHES and an ASHLEY tonight?! LOL!!

The love I feel for Ned is not healthy. Seriously between the passion of the opening scene to the sweetness of the last, that man is just perfection.

It’s clear that Bryan Fuller and I share the ideal man.

  46. mg714on 14 Nov 2007 at 10:46 pm

Great episode yet again! Loved the ending - both the part with Olive and Ned (I can totally relate to Olive, ::sigh::) and of course the very end with Ned and Chuck. So sweet! Again, loved Digby in this episode - glad he kind of got in on the crime solving action this week! :)

  47. Ashon 14 Nov 2007 at 11:14 pm

ASH, ASHES, and ASHLEY. Either this is a really weird coincidence, or one of us is lying (i am, my full name is Ashley, but I think since there’s another one of me now, I’ll stick to Ash)

  48. maseon 14 Nov 2007 at 11:20 pm

“Now that’s Gangsta love” I had soy milk running out of my nose when Emerson said that. Classic. The shows keep getting better and better. Glad to see that Olive has evolved a bit sense the beginning. The 4 of them together is great. Hoping this strike ends soon. I want a complete season on HD-dvd!!!!

  49. Ashleyon 14 Nov 2007 at 11:21 pm

lol I was gonna put Ash, but then I saw there was one already so I decided against it.

  50. Ned (dan.)on 14 Nov 2007 at 11:36 pm

DIGBY was the most loved dog on earth tonight! Bitches man…

  51. Ned (dan.)on 14 Nov 2007 at 11:39 pm

What I loved about Emerson’s dream sequence was the throw back to the Hitchcockian effects of Vertigo. It was meant to be ridiculous and disconnected which I really liked.

  52. Asheson 15 Nov 2007 at 12:06 am

My name is Ashley as well, but I went with the nickname instead. :-)

  53. Kimberon 15 Nov 2007 at 12:38 am

Wow. That episode had me laughing, crying, screaming, and even squeeing just a whole bunch! LOVED the opening! Well, until Chuck pulled off her skin to reveal Olive. It was a little creepy, but the part leading up to it was damn HOT, so I’m okay with that. I’ll take scantily clad Chuck any time! :)

Lee Pace continues to amaze me with his many facial expressions, and I especially loved the hair again in tonight’s episode. I’m growing oddly obsessive over his hair and the little “wave” that happens in the front. That can’t be healthy! (But as you pointed out, Kath, I think a lot of people have that unhealthy love for Lee!).

Loved it all - from the Snuppy’s Puppies, to Digby getting some serious lovin’, all the dream sequences, all the cute moments that made me go “awww! He so loves her!” and act like I was 13 again … a stellar episode.

Also gotta shout out to Kath and Dan because I just listened to your latest podcast and you guys CRACK ME UP! I don’t even watch half the shows you talk about, but I’ll still listen to you talk about them because you’re so honest and awesome. Never mind Lee Pace, I think I’m developing an unhealthy GMMR/DDTV obsession!

  54. The Other Whitneyon 15 Nov 2007 at 3:18 am

My personal favorite moment(s) of the night was the “compatible saliva” comments– which were a nod to Bryan Fuller’s late* show Wonderfalls, in the episode Safety Canary.

*late as in (prematurely) canceled, not late as in belated…

  55. Kimberon 15 Nov 2007 at 9:21 am

ASHLEY - There is a “quotes” section to this page where you can find all the wonderful PD quotes, but since “Bitches” isn’t up yet, here’s the wants/needs quote (because it was just so dang cute!):

Ned: You’re the only one for me.
Chuck: I know you say that now but there are things you want. There are things we both want.
Ned: Everyone wants stuff. We wake up everyday with a list of wishes a mile long and maybe we spend our lives trying to make those wishes come true. But just because we want them doesn’t mean we need them to be happy.
Chuck: What do you need to be happy?
    Ned: You.

Awww! So cute I literally had tears of joy in my eyes :)

  56. Stephanieon 15 Nov 2007 at 9:33 am

LOVED this episode!!!! Almost had a heart attack when Chuck fell on Ned though…that was a close one!

  57. Angelaon 15 Nov 2007 at 12:00 pm

Loved the episode! Sometimes Lee Pace delivers his lines so fast I don’t know how he even gets them out!

Did anyone else think they they could hear Anna Friel’s accent when she said “prophylactic” during her conversation with Olive about kissing/not touching Ned? That conversation was my favorite part of the episode!

  58. lonely_touriston 15 Nov 2007 at 12:17 pm

Hurray for “big girl” Olive getting over her little nasty streak, for shirtless Ned, for Chuck and Ned being honest about their feelings for one another, and for a great episode!

  59. Adriannaon 15 Nov 2007 at 1:08 pm

Oh no! Pushing Daisies got horrible ratings last night. It got only 8.88 mill viewers

  60. […] Thursday morning and I’ve got to say it…  “Bitches” delivered a rotten pie in the ratings.  Pushing Daisies had a series low last night with […]

  61. Susanon 15 Nov 2007 at 2:42 pm

Can’t believe no one mentioned the sweet hats the kids were wearing in the opening sequence… what the HELL was on little Ned’s head? His expressions were hysterical. Hooray for another great episode!

  62. Kimberon 15 Nov 2007 at 4:31 pm

Susan - those hats were crazy, weren’t they? I have no idea what Young Ned was wearing on his head. It almost looked like some sort of demonic red bull or something! I loved his little clay Ned and Chuck, though. Super cute!

  63. Asheson 15 Nov 2007 at 6:45 pm

Those were the hats from the costumes they wore in the pilot.

  64. Kimberon 15 Nov 2007 at 7:15 pm

You’re right Ashes! I thought so, but wasn’t sure. I just checked screencaps and it does appear that Young Ned was some type of dragon (he had wings), and Chuck was perhaps a dinosaur (she had a green cover on her body). Good catch!

  65. Susanon 15 Nov 2007 at 10:59 pm

Aha, thanks. This show is so wonderful for the episode-to-episode ties! The kids’ costumes, Ned using Lem’s prosthetic arm to scratch Digby, it all helps make the world feel more real. That, and the knitted items on Emerson’s desk from “Dummy”… such sly treasure in every scene. Someone should really teach Lee Pace how to roll out dough, though, poor guy. I would happily volunteer…
Only 6 days until the next new episode, woo-hoo! How soon until the first season is out on DVD and we can listen to the commentaries??

  66. Asheson 16 Nov 2007 at 12:31 am

I can’t wait until i can own the show. I’ll have something to watch whenever I’m feeling a little tired of the world as it is.

  67. Kimberon 16 Nov 2007 at 11:33 am

Amen, Ashes. I cherish the DVD sets that I have, and love being able to watch my favourite shows whenever I feel sad or angry with the world. The PD DVDs, however many episodes they contain, will be a welcome addition to my collection. I”m hoping for lots of commentaries, extras, and most of all - the episodes!

  68. Millysmaon 16 Nov 2007 at 8:04 pm

What was up with the wives being called H names except Simone? That was sort of weird.

I was thinking maybe because she’s going to appear in the storyline with Emerson? Hence, to avoid the confusion? :S Her accent was killer, though.

I didn’t like Heather too much. She just didn’t ‘give’ anything to the episode. Aside from, maybe analyzing ‘Mr. Digby’. But I think she should have had more impact on the general storyline.

And did the other wives find out about alive Bubblegum, then?

  69. TV Guyon 17 Nov 2007 at 11:38 pm

OMG!!!! I absolutely love this show. Another terrific episode. Just finished watching it on my DVR.

  70. kirstieon 28 Nov 2007 at 2:32 am

LOVED IT!! OMFG the guy that died was played by the host of “The Soup” on E! [fridays at 10pm] Joel McHale!!! i LOVED THIS!!! JOEL & LEE~~omfg such hot guys!!

  71. Mark Kleinon 02 Jan 2008 at 11:03 am

This is the only episode I missed! Does anyone have it where it can be downloaded?

  72. Sarahon 05 Jan 2008 at 9:23 pm

I loved the part where Ned picked up the the phone and said “Pie-O”

    So totally unlike Ned.

  73. Annaon 16 May 2008 at 11:46 pm

    Hey!
I’m from Brazil and I don’t speak english very well, but I’ll try.
Is there anyone who read this that can write for me (in english) what Ned says to Chuck before she ask: “What do you need to be happy?”?

    thanks anyway! ;)

  74. MJoon 20 May 2008 at 1:27 pm

Hi Anna from Brazil ! :)

I’m mexican and big fan of the show too.

Let me tell you that the quote is already written here, KIMBER did it 17 comments before you ….
    just check it !!! ;)
