is it me or is Ned’s hair getting more tousled? :p

  2. lonely_touriston 03 Nov 2007 at 12:13 pm

I wondered that, too. Maybe it’s symbolic. He’s becoming more relaxed, growing into himself since Chuck came back into his life, etc. Either way, he’s adorable.

I think I’m in the minority here, but I loved Ned’s hair in the pie-lette. I don’t mind the “I just ran rolled out of bed and look supafine” hair, but I loved it shorter and more “maintained” in the first episode. I felt it was a little more “classic” and Ned is nothing if not classic!!

  4. Asheson 03 Nov 2007 at 2:15 pm

true, he is very classic. I think he was looking his absolute best, though, in “dummy” when he was almost giddy with just being with Chuck again.

  5. ALon 03 Nov 2007 at 5:28 pm

I love his look. I loved it then I love it now But I’m liking the longer tousled look. His clothing, his hair, as with all the cast, they just look fabulous.

  6. Ned (dan.)on 03 Nov 2007 at 5:37 pm

The hair is a little OOC but I’ll take it any day.

  7. Kimberon 03 Nov 2007 at 6:06 pm

The hair is awesome! I noticed it looked more “tousled” in Girth, and in this episode it almost looks lighter in colour too. His tie also looks more colourful than usual. Perhaps Chuck being around is making his life brighter (and also his clothes and hair)?

Also - “a renowned scent expert Napoleon LeNez (guest star Christopher Sieber) is found dead after a scratch ‘n’ sniff book explodes”? Man, I love this show!

  8. Kaiton 06 Nov 2007 at 12:51 pm

Emerson’s pink shirt. :P I love the way this entire cast dresses in this show. :D

  9. Amandaon 08 Nov 2007 at 10:24 am

Personally, I don’t care what his hair looks like… he’s gorgeous regardless =]

  10. Mandyon 08 Nov 2007 at 12:23 pm

I love Chuck’s dress! It is so pretty! I can’t wait to see what happens in this episode! I really hope Chuck is back with Ned! I wonder what smells so bad?

  11. Tayloron 09 Nov 2007 at 12:29 pm

I love Chuck’s dress too! Actually I love all her dresses! I want to know if they’re set made or an array of designers… more Chuck fashion pics!

Where do the writer’s come up with all the quirky story lines? It takes a genius to think up an exploding scratch and sniff book.

  13. boredmessageborderon 21 Nov 2007 at 10:49 pm

i agree, the story lines are genius but its the intense visual style that really gets me.
the pace of tonight’s episode felt a bit quicker than the norm. it kinda bugged me.

  14. Angelicaon 22 Nov 2007 at 12:06 am

I finished watching tonight’s episode 15 minutes ago and I am still smiling. I could not possibly love this show more than I do.

  15. Kaiton 22 Nov 2007 at 3:06 am

I cannot stop loving this show- finally seeing the Darling Mermaid Darlings back in the pool was awesome- with more singing! Some day this show HAS to do a full on musical episode. They can find a way to make it work.

And the exploding book…..this stuff is genius. My favourite line this week has to be “follow the yellow thick hose” with the yellow brick walls of the sewer in the background…..my entire family burst into laughter at that one. :)

And I STILL want Chuck’s wardrobe. Her clothes every week are amazing.

  16. maseon 22 Nov 2007 at 12:12 pm

Great show. Not as good as last weeks , but still very good. I like when the show focuses on the romance between Ned and Chuck. Is it just me , or has Emerson been getting alot of screen time over the last month. It seems that when the series started Ned was the lead in the show , but now it seems as though Emerson has taken the lead. I know that it is an ensemble and it is not a competition , but just an observation. They all rock!!

Any news on ratings for last night or how the strike is going. Keep supporting this show.

  17. rockerbabyfi12on 22 Nov 2007 at 2:25 pm

I think Emerson is getting more screen time, but not more than Ned. Either way I don’t really care too much cause I love Emerson. And most of the time when he’s on screen, Ned is too.

Personally, I loved this episode. And I love the mini cliffhanger at the end. I hope that Oscar comes back eventually. I like that he knew Chuck wasn’t wearing any perfume.

Personally, I think my favorite line might have just been Oscar’s line about calling a man a “bitch” and the whole exchange in the Pie Hole when everyone was running into each other.

  18. Stephanieon 23 Nov 2007 at 12:35 pm

I loved this episode! I must say it was very amusing and funny.

  19. SnapperMarkon 23 Nov 2007 at 1:14 pm

Best line in the eppy, Olive’s “Don’t make me cut a bitch”. Absolutely hilarious. Olive seemed to be turning a little gangsta throughout the whole show.

…and Aunt Viv’s “Morning is Broken”. Positively beautiful.

This is the best show of it’s kind to arrive on network TV since the days of “Northern Exposure”.

    Long live the Piemaker!

  20. Susanon 24 Nov 2007 at 3:58 pm

Curious that there aren’t more comments this week - where did everyone go? I’ll put it down to holiday craziness, but I miss “the regulars.” Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and how about the rolling pin gag with Ned and Olive? Seemed like Ned was branching into more physical comedy this week which was great to see, and I loved that Olive was bubbly but sassy at the same time.

There’s so much backstory on Chuck and the aunts that has been alluded to now — wonder if her mom’s death, the loss of Lily’s eye, the reason they stopped swimming, etc. will all tie together or be part of next week’s cliffhangers. I can’t wait, but at the same time, I don’t want the season to end so soon. Come on, networks, pull your heads out!

  21. maseon 25 Nov 2007 at 12:00 am

I got the ratings for this past episode and it was a 4.7/9. whatever that means. Not real hip as to how the whole ratings thing works, but I believe I saw it on TV guide. PD won their time slot! Yeah!!! Can’t wait for next episode.

  22. heatheron 25 Nov 2007 at 12:51 am

i’m very surprised that no one picked up on the ‘had sex on a bare skin rug’ comment Ned made. i think Susan was right, the “regulars” were busy for thanksgiving.

  23. Asheson 25 Nov 2007 at 1:34 am

I caught the bear-skin rug comment. I giggled when I heard it. It was so subtle, it would have been easy to miss though.

I missed people, too. I kept refreshing the page as I watched the show hoping someone would be there to chat about the show. I don’t have anyone else to talk to about it since my roommate is at work when its on.

  24. Susanon 25 Nov 2007 at 2:14 pm

Can’t believe I forgot to mention the bear skin rug comment! Cheers, guys! Cute that Emerson admitted to being curious about Ned’s past/”likes”… he’s usually so anti-sentimental, so maybe this is a sign he’s growing to accept Ned, and I swear he bonded with Chuck a little more as well. Aunt Lily isn’t the only tough nut to crack. Oh, and thanks to the writers for the Reagan Admin. zinger, very nicely done.

Well, if this coming week’s episode is going to be the season finale, it’s appropriately titled “Bitter Sweets.”

  25. Asheson 25 Nov 2007 at 6:44 pm

If they made 9 episodes, we should have two more. Next week will just be #8 unless I’m miscounting somehow.

  26. Susanon 25 Nov 2007 at 7:11 pm

Ashes, I think you’re right, which makes my day — thanks!! Sorry you had to watch the show alone. I’m sure there will be more online conversation this week. : )

  27. Ashon 25 Nov 2007 at 10:11 pm

sorry i wasnt there guys- i work in a bakery (fun fun) and of course PD was on the night before thanksgiving- you think ppl would be sensitive to my tv watching habits, but i watched it online on fri- great episode, i liked the way the smell guy got right in your face (”you smell like…death”) and sniffed you. so quirky, so amazing. i promise ill be back this wed. to watch with everyone again.

  28. rockerbabyfi12on 25 Nov 2007 at 11:02 pm

“i’m very surprised that no one picked up on the ‘had sex on a bare skin rug’ comment Ned made.”

I SO picked up on that! I keep forgetting it and then I remember it and giggle all over again. But I have to say that I can’t imagine Ned having sex on a bearskin rug. Hahaha. The thought is hilarious. And then imagine his face when the bear like moves or something. So priceless!

  29. rockerbabyfi12on 25 Nov 2007 at 11:03 pm

    OHOH! I forgot again!

I also love Chuck giggling when he said that Ned had the faint, mucky scent of pheremones. Hahahaha. She seemed slightly proud of herself.

  30. Kaiton 26 Nov 2007 at 3:58 am

Hehe, and the part where LeNez first looked at Emerson when he said that, and the look on Emerson’s face had me laughing.

  31. Ned (dan.)on 26 Nov 2007 at 11:00 am

Hey all, glad to see that some more comments are coming in for this past episode of PD. I still haven’t seen the episode yet, which kills me as the next episode airs in 2 days.

Thanksgiving will ruin the television experience completely. Hope to read all of the comments when I finally watch the show (hopefully tonight).

  32. Mollyon 26 Nov 2007 at 11:01 am

I love this show!!! Ned was so cute in this episode, i loved his face when LeNez smelled him, he looked so uncomfortable!

This is a possibly dumb question, but can someone explain to me the musky pheramones joke?

  33. Susanon 26 Nov 2007 at 4:19 pm

Molly, you’re so right — Ned had several great new faces in that episode. Maybe I’m wrong, but my take of the pheromone joke is that Ned’s pheromones are heightened because he’s attracted to someone nearby. LeNez assumes that someone is Emerson until Chuck giggles. I don’t know if that’s really how pheromones work, if they up production in proximity to someone who turns us on, but this is TV.

  34. Mollyon 27 Nov 2007 at 2:34 am

thank you so much Susan!! I get it now! I really want to see how the guy who LeNez worked with story plays out about him knowing chuck is dead… I don’t want this season to end so early!

  36. Ned (dan.)on 28 Nov 2007 at 8:54 pm

Okay, I’m a week late but I just now finished watching “Smell of Success”. So damn cute, minus the dirty sock action.

Paul Reubens was creepy as I wanted him to be and I can’t wait for him to make his way back to the Pie Hole at some point.

Chris Sieber was fun but he’s looking a little puffy since his “It’s All Relative” days… I’m just saying.

Is it wrong that Lee wearing his apron so low slung makes me hot? Sweet Jesus…

  37. Stevieon 30 Nov 2007 at 12:33 pm

I want a Jews for Chesses shirt! That was the best shirt idea I’ve seen yet.

Is anyone else a little disappointed that chuck’s clothes have begun to get more 60-70’s inspired rather than 50’s? I know I am. I want those colorful shirtwaists back!

  38. Samon 09 Mar 2008 at 4:19 pm

Ellen Greene’s renedition of Morning Has Broken was the mot gorgeous thing in the world. Made me cry.

She absolutely lights up the show.
