Spoiler Information:
This is spoiler speculation about the storyline for Episode 2.01: “Bzzzzzzzzz”  We will list the definitive episode summary as the season grows closer.

Olive is still in love with Ned and feeling the burden of unrequited passion as well as all of the secrets she’s carrying for other people.

Meanwhile, Emerson Cod, indulging his own passion, has begun making pop-up books. He’s created a series of books about “Lil’ Gumshoe”, a young girl detective. Emerson has time to do this because he’s able to solve his cases so quickly, what with Ned being able to wake the dead and ask them how they died.

Our mystery this week involves the death of Kentucky Fitz, the leading sales rep and number-one Bee Girl of Betty’s Bees, a beauty empire built on honey and honey-based lotions and potions. Dusty Fitz, husband of the deceased, wants her death investigated. The company says it was a work-related mishap; Dusty doesn’t believe them. Complicating matters even more, it appears Kentucky Fitz was having an affair. Or was she?

Notable Quotables

Ned: “A happy hive is a happy home”

Victim: Kentucky Fitz, died in some kind of honey harvesting tragedy

Ned: “Betty’s Bees (Trademark)”

Ned: “That’s terrifying!”

Ned: “I could have been swarmed in my underwear”

Chuck: “Poor Kentucky, what a horrible way to die. Thousands of little stingers stinging you”
Olive: “Like stinging secrets that don’t just sting you once they keep stinging you until your bloated and full of puss. Who wanted ala mode?”

Emerson: “Kentucky was wiggidy wiggidy whack”

Ned: “We’ve ruled out workplace romance”
Olive: “I’ll just scratch that off my list then.”
Chuck: “I haven’t ruled out workplace romance”

Ned: “If I could breathe I would vomit!”

Emerson: “I’m gonna dose both y’all with a scoop of shut the fudge up.”

Narrator: “The weight of kept secrets became unbearable for the pint sized pie slinger…”
Aunt Vivian: “Why won’t you talk to me, I thought you were my friend”
Aunt Lily: “Like I said, flaky…”
Olive: “I’ve got something to say and I’m gonna say it to you, and you and you and your hump!”
Narrator: “Olive wanted to spew the lies she’d been force fed by her friends, that chuck was still alive, that Lily was her Mother but instead what came out was this…”
Olive: /SCREAMS/
Ned: “What’s gotten into you?”
Olive: “I’m a sawed off shotgun full of secrets!”
Aunt Vivian: “Did she just say she was armed?”
Olive: “I don’t have a gun, I am a gun and at any moment truth buckshot could come spewing out of my muzzle. Lookout!”
Ned/Aunt Lily: “That’s enough.”
Olive: “Truer words were never spoken. This riffle is going to go away in a little satin lined case with the trigger locked and the safety on. I quiiiiiit! I’m quitting you and this and all of this.”
Aunt Vivian: “Olive you don’t have to quit just calm down. Do you want a drink? Lily hand me your purse.”
Olive: “I’m not thirsty. I’m tendering my resignation, I’m resigning my tenders to the cold harsh reality of what’s not meant to be.”

Dusty: “If I was more comfortable with you people I’d cry”
Chuck: “Oh you can cry, it’s okay…”
Emerson: “It is not okay for a grown ass man to weep in public with a bunch of happy families enjoying pie. If you can’t hold it, take your ass to the men’s room and cry. Like a grown ass man.”

Emerson: “He is stalking you!”

Ned: “Chuuuuuck. I knew this was dangerous. Just because your alive again doesn’t mean you can’t be dead again. There’s a reason I don’t let Digby play in traffic!”

Olive (in confession): “Forgive me Father for I’m going to file a police report on all my worldly possessions. I know it’s greedy and raffle but there’s been a miscommunication.”

Emerson: “Damn, the crazy cat lady don’t seem so crazy no more…”

Lily: “You know things about me nobody knows. This place knows things about me nobody knows”
Olive: “Like you vacationed here 30 years ago and found a baby in the cabbage patch. And by cabbage patch I mean your lady parts”

Chuck: “How long did you live alone?”
Ned: “Long enough.”

Hi there! Would you be a pal and credit us when using original content from our site? (http://pushing-daisies.com/spoilers/episode-21/)

    Thanks!

  2. Chuck (Kath)on 08 Jul 2008 at 12:30 pm

Mel - Trying to email you directly but your email keeps getting bounced back. I just spoke with Ned (dan) and he said that he did put in the proper credit last night. But it seems he and I were logged in at the same time working on the spoiler stuff and it didn’t save. He’s updating it now. Thanks for the heads up. And can you email me directly at info(at)thepiemaker(dot)com with your correct email address? I hope that we’ll be working together on stuff during the season!!

  3. deadsyon 08 Jul 2008 at 12:56 pm

No offense to anyone but isn’t all of this information on every site out there? Is any of it original conent?

  4. Chuck (Kath)on 08 Jul 2008 at 1:22 pm

Tis true, deadsy. But if Mel summarized a bunch of spoilers as such then we should give credit. But yeah, spoilers are kind of public unless they come from an exclusive source and should be acknowledged as such.

  5. Melon 08 Jul 2008 at 2:14 pm

D’oh! I put .net instead of .com! Sorry about that. :) Thanks for the credit; we’ve been having trouble with another site that constantly takes our original content and never credits. I knew you and Ducky wouldn’t do that on purpose. :)

  13. Chuck (Kath)on 01 Oct 2008 at 8:37 pm

I hate to objectify Lee Pace, but let me just say DAYUM!! Thanks B. Fuller. This is the 3rd time I’ve watched this episode and each time I’m finding something new!

  14. Kimberon 01 Oct 2008 at 8:41 pm

AHH! Happy Time Temp Agency! AND Diana Scarwid? I love you Bryan Fuller. (And Lee Pace! He is simply delicious).

  15. Sadieon 01 Oct 2008 at 9:02 pm

Yea!!! i am sooooo happy i got to see it!!! =) it was soooo good–so many new things!!! things i am excited about: more olive@ the nunnery, Lil’gumshoe (!!!), and *meeting ned’s father*!!!!! oh, and next week’s episode. do i have to wait a whole week!!

  16. Anastasiaon 01 Oct 2008 at 9:37 pm

OH MY BLOODY GOODNESS!!! That was one amazing episode. I feel like Olive, I gotta spill the secrets to someone. So much information to take in?! Like they said, do we have to wait another week?

  17. RayGon 01 Oct 2008 at 9:50 pm

Awesome start to the new season! I’m so glad they’re back. My favorite line (though they were all great as this show is so well written) was Olive responding to Mother Superior’s belief that she was pregnant: “I’m not with child, unless is what immaculate conception or I wore some strange man’s underwear”! Hilarious, especially delivered by Olive. This show has the most talented cast, in addition to it’s terrific writers. Can’t wait for next week (Ned’s father?)

  18. miaon 01 Oct 2008 at 10:20 pm

    love emerson! wiggity-wack?!?!ROFL
    love Ned - he’s magical
Chuck was so cute in her daisy dress.
    &
    last but not least pigby!!!
    so fun
    cant wait until next week.
so much to aBSORB WILL HAVE TO WATCH IT AGAIN, AGAIN, AGAIN

  19. Malon 01 Oct 2008 at 10:32 pm

Could someone tell me hooow Lily and vivian can be Chuck’s Aunts. I can’t think of a legitimate scenario unless they aren’t really her Aunts and she just calls them Aunt.

  20. Chuck (Kath)on 01 Oct 2008 at 10:56 pm

Mal - All will be explained next week in ‘Circus Circus’ or maybe ‘Bad Habits’ - I can’t remember which, but that will be explained.

  21. rockerbabyfi12on 01 Oct 2008 at 10:58 pm

I was thinking that maybe her dad isn’t really her dad and HE knew his sister’s (Lily’s) secret about her affair and just never told Vivian.

Am I the only one that felt really had for Vivian in this episode? Not the whole affair thing, but Lily just seemed so mean to her! And then when she was talking to Ned, she seemed soooo sad!

  22. roxas0027on 02 Oct 2008 at 12:07 am

OK SO i still can’t believe it is back! I still don’t think I have full absorbed the joy! This was a great season 2 kickoff episode and I can’t wait for what’s in store for season 2!

  23. Theresaon 02 Oct 2008 at 12:28 am

    holy fudge! =]

    this was incredible!

i think that olive did the best in this episode. with the emotional begining, and making us laugh toward the end. =]

    =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Ok, just a random question I thought of, Does Ned have a last name, Cause it’s like Olive Snook Charlotte Charles, Lily & Vivian Charles, Emerson Cod, and then NED just curious
    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

  33. kristinloveron 02 Oct 2008 at 8:25 pm

i couldnt agree with u more Thersa kristin kicked but in this Ep. she is my idol but yeah this was a highlight omg that was os great i recorded it and cant stop watching it i never tot this show could get me more adickted but aparently i was wrong

  34. Digbyon 03 Oct 2008 at 3:00 am

Brooke, I missed the shout out to Dead Like Me… when/what was it? I’ll have to watch it again.

It was interesting to see Lily and Vivian apart from each other. Last season, Vivian was the more optimistic/cheerful (well, relative to Lily) of the two. Now, Vivian is the blue one and Lily seemed in charge of not only herself but Olive (such a controller she’s turned out to be) — Lily just seemed more powerful and vibrant than before. Great to see more sides of her character. Emerson seemed kinder to Chuck, like he’s accepted her into the trio of crime solvers - what a softie.

I agree, I hate to objectify Lee, but the shirtless scene was a huge treat.

  35. grumpyoldmanon 03 Oct 2008 at 9:03 am

Sorry, but that was a confusing mess. I loved every second of Season One, but this episode was just not right. Maybe too much of the snappy cute dialogue. Still looks awesome in HD though.

A few more episodes like this one…and a shark will be jumped.

  36. Brookeon 03 Oct 2008 at 9:56 am

    Digby:
The shoutout was when Ned infiltrated Betty’s Bees to keep an eye on Chuck. He used the Happy Time Temp Agency (George’s job) to get a job after he put laxatives in a slice of pie for the secretary :D

  37. Aoifeon 03 Oct 2008 at 1:16 pm

Anyone know when it starts in the UK?

  39. RaleighRobon 03 Oct 2008 at 2:56 pm

Brooke: Good ear you’ve got! I totally missed that connection!! Nice one. :-)

Would be cool if they did other DLM references…just adds to the fun! Maybe they could grab breakfast at Der Waffle Haus? ;-)

  40. Michaelon 03 Oct 2008 at 4:14 pm

P.D is one of the greatest shows out there ! It is both pure genius and truly magical.
I can’t keep still watching it because I get so excited. Who doesn’t want to be sitting in the Pie Hole and seeing this all unfold fisrthand? ME!!!!!!!!!!
I get so tickled reading the excitement from eveyone. We must spread the word and get everyone watching. P.D. is to great to miss.

  41. Kerryon 03 Oct 2008 at 4:15 pm

Fantastic episode, though I wish they could have done some sort of catch-up preview episode, and then had more time to focus on the actual current events.

As much as I love everyone, Olive and Emerson continue to make this show for me.

[And, as much as churches love holding fundraisers, I think the quote might be “I know it’s greedy and wrathful” not “raffle”]

  42. Lisaon 03 Oct 2008 at 7:39 pm

I loved that in this episode Bryan Fuller added 2 references to both Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls. Diana Scarwid, who played Jaye Tyler’s mother in Wonderfalls, played the mother superior in this episode. And the more subtle reference to Dead Like Me was when Ned shows up as the office temp at Betty’s Bees and explains that he called “Happy Time” temp agency–the same agency that George worked at in Dead Like Me. Might Dolores Herbig show up at the Pie Hole?

  43. **A**on 04 Oct 2008 at 8:40 am

OHEMGEE that was ridiculously awesomee! The whole chuck-covered-in-bees-thing scared the life out of me! That was mean!! But Olive at the nunnery was hilarious! and juicy…… :D

  44. lisaon 05 Oct 2008 at 12:37 am

That episode was off. What happened to Paul Reubens’ character? It seems like we missed a bunch of stuff in between the end of the first season and the pickup of this one.

Very choppy episode. Not good. I was really looking forward to this show starting up again, and it was a big disappointment.

I hope it gets into the swing again.

  45. Digbyon 06 Oct 2008 at 12:18 am

    Brooke & Lisa,

Nice catches on the “Happy Time” temp agency and Diana Scarwid! I knew Mother Superior looked familiar - duh. The agency name went right past me.

For those who didn’t like the episode, I admit I was a little overwhelmed with all the names flying about. I agree that this didn’t quite pick up where season 1 left off - things are suddenly OK with Ned/Chuck? Understandable that they wanted to start the new season on a happier note, but what happened between them? That didn’t feel quite right. Also, the dialogue was so fast I had to rewind to catch some scenes.

Overall, I enjoyed the plot, the vivacity, the characters, the sets, etc. The pilot episode is still the best one, honestly. Barry S. should always direct this show’s eps.

  46. grumpyoldmanon 06 Oct 2008 at 8:14 am

    Digby,

You hit the nail on the head for me….it was all the names! Hopefully they’ll calm down for the next few episodes so we can sit back and let it wash over us, without wondering what the heck is going on.

And I’d love it if they worked their way through the cast of “Third Rock” for guest stars. Very undervalued comedy.

  47. JustMe.on 15 Oct 2008 at 8:28 pm

    I LOVE PUSHING DAISIES!!
    This episode is so awesome!!
I love Olive and Chuck and Emerson and Lily and vivian but I LOOOOOOVVVVEEEEE Ned!!!

Sorry, I’ll calm down. I loved this episode, it’s always so colourful and the plot is so tied together its great!!!

  48. damselon 03 Nov 2008 at 2:03 am

Ned - Then this isn’t stalking. It’s just good, old-fashioned chivalry.

  50. camon 09 Nov 2008 at 1:51 pm

    this episode was fantastic

the blend of comedy and drama is what i love about pushing daisies and olive as a nun lol.

fantastic start to the second season.
