oh yah it is zipped up a bit more.
I’ve noticed Chuck’s been wearing more pants this season, where are all those adorable dresses?
i love that outfit she wore @ the end of circus, circus, it was lovely!
yeah i like that outfit to but i do miss all the wonderfull dresses and i wonder if they zipped her dress up more on purpose but hey she is smiling in all the pics olive looks so much happeyr
[…] a single promo was aired for tonight’s episode “Frescorts” and that’s ridiculous. If you go over to ABC.com there are promos for both Private Practice […]

We’re almost on 3,000!
Lovin this ep already!!! Baby Emerson! Mama Cod! Pigby and Digby!
“Well I’ll be dental damned.”
“With that girl you should be.”
Ha ha ha ha
hahaha “constipation”
loved when olive spit out her pie too!
and they just officially said ned is a vegetarian.
this is my favorite show!! SAVE PUSHING DAISIES!
That was the first time we heard Chuck say that she loves Ned! So cute. Loving this episode. This show CANNOT go off the air!!
Yay - a promo!
“I wanna duvet you right now.”
Wow I’m shocked the ratings haven’t been up there. I hope they go up there though I’d be very sad if PD was canceled.
“Selfishly, I want to duvet you right this second.”
Sorry for the repeat there Pie Maker, was posting while you were posting.
And, seriously, a hug machine? Great gooey goodness. Love this show.
that was great ep!
i also miss chucks cute dresses.
i hope Olive continues her crush on Ned too!
but the aunts were awal again.
I think this was the best eo so far in S2.
Ned doesnt want to be a bachelor he wants to wear bells on his slippers!
That “Oooh” from Ned at the end? Orgasmic. For me and him.
Wait, Chuck said she loved Ned? I missed that.
Lee Pace - I just can’t deal with how adorable that man is.
Love this show! Loved this episode!
Ha! This episode rocked. I’m glad I feel like crap and skipped my usual class tonight, and was able to watch PD “live”. So many fabulous things … the hug machine, Ned’s awesome expressions, BABY/YOUNG EMERSON! Mama, “Selfishly, I want to duvet you right this second”, and that ending?!?
Too awesome.
This was such a good episode! I loved all the duvet innuendo. Just curious, though, what exactly could they do at the end? Because they can’t touch…. Oh, well, I guess that’s why the episode ended there!
I was so friggin annoyed, there’s a thunderstorm going on and I missed about half of PD’s dialogue. At least the image was still snappy. Gotta love that HD.
And, oh, Chuck loves Ned! Well, we all knew that, but still. To say it out loud. And I felt so sorry for poor Olive! As one who is generally in the Olive position of unrequited love rather than the lovey-dovey Chuck, I felt so bad for her!
Baby Emerson! This ep rocked. Course, always does.
Chuck said she loved Ned when she told Olive that she made her feel like a jerk for being in love with her own boyfriend when they were fighting in the locker. I loved that scene…it was hilarious!
These episodes keep getting better and better–I love this season even more than the first. I’ve watched every episode and I watch them again on ABC’s website. What’s the name of the actress that plays Emerson’s mom? Terrific bit of casting and I love his back story. But WOW, this show goes from being super-sweet to slipping in some risque stuff “I wanna duvet you” and what’s with Chuck getting naked at the end? What a way to torture poor Ned. I was so relieved to see a promo for next week’s show. At least we’ll get 13 episodes (I hope). I really don’t want them to kill this show, but I’m not a Nielsen (whoever they are) and my viewing habits don’t seem to count.
Random question: Does Lee Pace/Ned have blue or green eyes? This has bothered me for a while. I always thought they were green, but they were very very blue in all the pictures and on the DVD and stuff. Then, in this ep’s pics, they look blue. I swear, I thought they were green!
That episode really made me wish that I had a DVR, although it’s probably a good thing since I actually have to do work and watch it over and over again.
I hope ABC keeps in mind that it’s baseball season, which has resulted in a decline in ratings for many shows on multiple networks. I’m a Daisies fan, but I’ve been torn from it the last two weeks because we have only one television, and I have a family who wants to see the Fightin’ Phils much, much more than wit and pies. I plan to watch the episodes online, and return next week.
I LOVED this episode! I love when Olive is around and I think it is awesome that Ned is going to have a friend!
Also, does anyone think ABC just DIDN’T MAKE a trailer for this episode?? How lazy! There wasn’t one on the website, NO COMMERCIALS AT ALL, and not after last week’s ep.
….This show is so awesome. Love how Chuck and Olive are still working out the kinks in their friendship, and Ned connecting to Randy because they see in the other themselves. And I knew that I would love Calista Cod
And yay, a promo!
I’m so glad Ned mentioned that he was a vegetarian, as was mentioned on the pie-cast for ThePieMaker.com. And can I just say that Mother Cod and Baby Cod are the cutest sardonic cynics that primetime has to offer?
Yeah, how do you get your viewing habits to count anyway? I never get to be a Nielsen person or whatever, and I don’t have a DVR. I do watch the eps when they first come on, then on abc.com, then I get them on iTunes. I guess the iTunes thing counts, but what about the rest?? Who is doing the Nielsen ratings, and why do they have such horrid taste???
I love this show sooo much! It keeps getting better. There are so many quotable lines and it’s just so friggin’ sweet. Three shows I watch without missing an episode are The Office, 30 Rock, and my dear Pushing Daisies. It’s by far my favorite of the three. I haven’t been disappointed in an episode yet!
Tonight’s episode was great! I laughed so hard when Ned said, “I wanna duvet you.” Those suits at ABC better keep their canceling hands off this show!!
does anyone know where to find that red dress chuck wore at the end of this episode?!?!? please let me know, it was so adorable!
I love this show!
What dress
JK
Why was there no promo for Frescorts? I LOVED THIS EPISODE!!! Chuck and Olive FTW!
This season keeps getting better and better! I loved the episode tonight, and love that Olive is back from the nunnery (although that nunnery was pretty BA)
If this show is canceled, I don’t know what I’ll do… I look forward to Wednesdays all week long just to spend an hour with the Pie Hole gang. Pushing Daisies is the best show on television. Please keep it alive!!!
Just a reminder that while we prefer that you talk about the episodes in these posts, the forums are open for other non-episode specific discussions. We are always looking for dedicated mods to keep the conversations going.
Am so tired of cop shows, lawyer shows, and shows about hospitals. This show is the only one I watch and I can actually watch it with my family.
I love the dialogue, the characters, the feel of it.
I am also NOT on the Neilson ratings but I watch it weekly, and check many websites to find out what’s coming up, or how the show’s doing with ratings. Not every show has to be watched by males 18-49 but in my house, along with the rest of our family, we have one.
I’m so glad this season is dedicated to get through all the love triangle stuff and introducing more than just lust and love- i.e. fathers, mothers and babies!
But god I love this show. so much. it’s funnier than ever, and really at it’s best.
This episode was particularly punny too.
i missed the preview for the next episode- was there one? is it going to be posted somewhere soon?
Loved this episode!
(Not in a sick way) but I’m so glad they’re starting to delve into Ned and Chucks “sex life” (or the equivalent). It makes their relationship seem a lot more realistic.
Poor Ned though… Look, but don’t touch!!!!
Best episode of the season! Well, what am I saying…each one keeps getting better! Can’t wait for next week! Btw ABC - take note: this is the best show on television. Hands down, no question.
“Look at all those bridges out there!” Haha this show is so amazing!
OK tonight episode was great as always! I am so glad they brought back one of the 4 wives! They need to start bringing back more characters other wise season one won’t tie back to season two well enough. I missed the aunts they are one of my favorite parts of the entire show!
We haven’t seen any of season 2 in NZ but loved season 1. Will have to rely on USA viewers to give it good ratings so WE can see more of this show.
Heck yeah! This was a great ep. Love seeing Emerson’s shell dissolving little by little, Ned communicating his emotions and making new friends (Randy is SUCH a perfect PD character!)… I’m glad Olive’s character is evolving past the scheming jealous person of last season. Emerson’s backstory was fascinating tonight. What was the line as he entered the taxidermy room? Welcome to Noah’s nutty-as-a-fruitcake Ark? I can’t remember all the awesome laughs, but as always, genius writing and acting.
Lee Pace couldn’t be any more adorable.
Will the petition be sent, or does ABC already know of it? Just curious btw I signed
I love that Ned’s character seems to be learning things! He is so adorable. And did anyone think what Chuck did at the ending was a little cruel considering the circumstances??? My Friends and I all were screaming “That’s soooooooo mean!!!!” lol
All in All I adore this show, and am disappointed in ABC for not advertising it like they should be!!!! Ifno one sees commercials how do they know an amazing show like this is out there?!?!??!
What a great episode. Not as good as Bad Habits, but still filled to the brim with amazing PD goodness ^^
I loved the Hug Machine. I was waiting for Ned to steal it xD
And is it just me…or is this the first episode where Ned and Chuck have referred to each other as boyfriend and girlfriend?
Luisa - I think the cover of the PD DVDs were majorly doctored (as most photos/covers seem to be lately!). I did a search for close up pics of Lee after that, and I think he’s probably got what are considered “hazel” eyes, as they look green, dark blue, and brown in different lights. But then again, it’s really hard to tell what’s doctored and what’s not. I do know that Anna’s eyes are green, but nowhere near as green as the cover of the DVDs!!
ABC, this is the best show on tv right now. Please don’t give up on it. This show has it all, great dialogue, cast, and humor like no other.
Wow. Several positives.
1. They aired a promo, and it was a decently produced one! That tells us that they may have just not produced one for this episode in thinking that they were going to cancel it before “Bad Habits” aired. Then the ratings were up for “Bad Habits” and they didn’t have a promo to use.
2. The promo tells us “next week.” ABC is absolutely NOT participating in the Obama love-fest. NBC and CBS are. No Knight Rider, but Old Christine will air in the second half-hour, and defections during the second half-hour are bad… At any rate, if the World Series goes six games, Bones will not be on, and PD will be the ONLY scripted network television on in the first half-hour. Let’s see what ABC does about that.
3. What the heck?? Anna Friel’s bare back and shoulders weren’t something they could use in a promo??? Aren’t they after the young male demographic???????? Good heavens, what better way to do that then by promoting that they will get a small glimpse of…er…a little MORE of the divine Ms. Friel!!
Good heavens, ABC, how could you have dropped the ball so? Let’s hope you make up for it this week. The cynical pundits at places like tvbythenumbers.com need to be proven wrong.
Okay, so seriously, you guys? I LOVE the new-ish direction of the show! Everyone is more interesting and the stories just get better and better.
Ned is getting so complex! He’s jealous and bitchy and fantastic and just yeah. SO much more real. He wants so badly to be with Chuck, but I think he’s slowly realizing that he’s got to do something different…maybe. Hopefully. I like the “get okay with yourself” thing.
And of course, I LOVE how Chuck and Olive are talking their sh*t out. They confront each other, which is awesome and fun to watch.
I loved the mummy. It’s a nice way to expand on Ned’s gift. Apparently, he can even bring decayed remains back to life…not just the freshly or mostly-freshly dead.
The only story I’m getting bored with is Emerson’s with his daughter. If I have to hear that he wrote Li’L Gumshoe as a map for his long-lost daughter one more time…I’m not responsible for the curse words that go through my head. I love Emerson and of course, I adore Edna (I know, I know. Debra Mooney was only Edna on EVERWOOD, but that’s who she’ll always be to me), but the storyline better start going somewhere one of these days.
I love this cast. I love this show. It’s so great to be able to spend an hour at the Pie Hole with my friends for an hour each week. I wish I had a Nielson box. It would be all PUSHING DAISIES all the time.
oh what an excellent episode … ned’s expression when hugging that hug machine is possibly the most fabulously ooey-gooey adorable thing i have ever seen on tv. this is definitely my favourite show ever! i just don’t know what i would do if it was cancelled …. abc please don’t take it away from it’s devoted fans, please!
[…] all of us that were far from pleased with ABC last week for not including a preview of “Frescorts” after “Bad Habits” at least we caught a glimpse of Pushing Daisies next episode […]
LOVELOVELOVELOVE everything about Pushing Daisies.
OMFG!!!! What an amazing epi!!!!!!
I was a bit disappionted by the last one, but this….. was FABULOUS!!!!!!!
The hugging machine, SO cute! I so thought Ned was going to make his own.
And the that ending!! :O Thats was soooo romantic, and naughty of Chuck! She looked beautiful though!
Poor Ned, can only really look. I definatly think he enjoyed looking though! ;P
And I noticed how this was the first episode where they both refered to eachother as girlfriend and boyfriend. Mulitple times at that.
I missed Chuck saying she loved Ned, but when she says it to his face that will be pricless!
They are officailly the cutest couple ever created on televsision, and this show should therefore never ever end!
This was a pretty terrific episode! i liked the added dynamic of Emerson’s and Momma Emerson’s relationship in the mix - hope she can show up again and give us some more insight into l’il Emerson…i think he’s got even more of a story that we don’t know about yet - or at least i hope he does.
..so much Olive vs. Chuck dialog! but all their bickering sort of stressed me out. i hope they can make it work an become good girl friends…like how Ned and Randy can become good buddies…hey - could be olive/randy and ned/chuck double date!!
…btw, Emerson’s got EXCELLENT taste in pie choices - except, make mine *rhubarb* a la mode. X )
oh! and all that duvet innuendo made me blush!…wonder if there are some parents who watched last night with their kids and had some explaining to do…
What a great episode, well they all are! Of course the duvet lines are gold. This show is the epitome of perfect, they is not a flaw, and i guess that’s why people don’t watch it. It’s too good, the same thing happened with arrested development. If abc is smart, they will keep this show because it’s the best one on their network and on tv.
Ned & Chuck forever
Oh, and going along with what KellyH said, I don’t get how more guys aren’t watching. I’m a guy and I love this show! Ms. Friel and Ms. Chenowith are smokin hot.
Guys, the time is rapidly expiring for ABC to pick up the back nine. I am convinced that their decision will be completely made by next week’s numbers, especially if they air promos.
That means that a viewership push more than ever before needs to happen. I feel that next week’s ratings will determine what happens with the show. If both CBS and NBC’s Obama coverage beat it–I don’t know what we would be able to do.
This week’s numbers were not great–still losing to Knight Rider, which nobody seems to be able to understand, but given ABC’s utter lack of promotion, not an enormous drop either.
The problem is, how can we make a “save our show” campaign that isn’t quixotic? Until either everyone has a ratings box or unless we can find out who the heck has them and mass bombard them or something, nothing will do any good.
The Nielsen system needs to be retired in favor of something more “democratic” and genuinely reflective of who is watching what. Small samples are like election polls–they’re not always right.
Hahah great episode!!!!
Yeah, Olive did learn something from the nunnery.
Haha I love the spat between Olive and Chuck inside the locker!!
Ughh taxidermy…..*Barf*
OHMYGAWD scandalous endddd…..
SAVE PUSHING DAISIES, come on people!!!!
Hopefully, this can be attributed to lack of promotion and the World Series drawing more than the NLCS:
http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/10/ratings-crimina.html
Silver linings–I think it’s still better than Episode 2 (not sure of that)–and Knight Rider dropped big time.
So many great one-liners! I wonder, though, if the Ned character is really a vegetarian, or if he was just saying it because he didn’t want to try his new buddy’s “awful?” Still, I love the show more and more with every word! *^_^*
great episode!!!! I liked the taxidermy guitar playing dog!
This episode was delightful, especially the innuendo with the “metaphorical duvet” and the real one being dropped on the floor. The look on Ned’s face was priceless!!
Bryan Fuller said that Ned is a vegetarian, because if Ned ate dead meat it could get a little disgusting.
I absolutely love Picking Daisies!!!! I really love Lee Pace–he is my new obsession!!! And really all the cast - Anna, and Kristin, and Chi, and of course Swoosie and Ellen!!! It is getting better and better. I wish it could be on every day….
Loved this episode. Loved the dialogue. Love the show. It’s my favorite favorite. Never go away.
Oh it just gets better and better. Visually stimulating, intriguing story lines, and amazing actors!!
I love it all, and hope it never ends =D
Here’s a question that’s bugging me now… why can Ned revive nasty fruit and it turns back to being ripe/in good shape, but the mummy stayed nasty (I LOVED that he couldn’t talk and had to play charades with them to communicate)? There was the ex-con in the prison cemetery who stayed kinda gross as well (his eyeballs were gone?)?
Just wondering if anyone else has ideas on this.
It’s an inconsistency to be sure. They like the sight gags of people retaining their traumas after being revived (the horseshoe print on the jockey, the charred skin of the pop-up victim, the bee stings, etc.). Even Barb’s collapsed lungs would fit there. The fruit thing–I don’t get it.
Note how they were careful to have Chuck (and Ned’s mother for that matter) die in ways that did not leave huge trauma on their bodies. Although this begs the question as far as Digby goes. That semi must have messed him up good, yet he retains no scars or visible effects.
I just chalk these things up to them valuing the sight gags over consistency here.
Sister Larue’s legs were really messed up (and she had some sort of face-flattening), but she was apparently able to fix her leg and be a “nun on the run.” I dunno. I don’t really get it.
I guess they could have had Chuck be a Claire Bennet type and not be able to be hurt again. Digby’s lack of permanent scars are really kind of confusing. Yeah, I really don’t know.
I loved this episode like I do with all the others. I did find the stuffed animals a little creepy but that’s just me. I thought seeing young Emerson was amazing and his mother was just awesome! I hope she returns for some more episodes in the future.
KellyH, I think you’re probably right about the sight gags vs. consistency. Honestly, I’m grateful Digby has no scars and he never seemed to. The pop-up victim and jockey were awesome gags… and I’d forgotten about Sister LaRue’s messed up legs. I’ll take the gags anyday over consistency. I retract the question. : )
Can’t wait for the next episode!!
Any chance that the name of Calista Cod is a bit of a “wink”? Calista Flockhart is not only on another ABC show, she was also paired with Anna Friel in the 1998 “Midsummer Night’s Dream” movie. They were Hermia and Helena. Can’t be a coincidence.
who was that red dress by at the end of this episode?? ya know the one she replaced with a rug…
oh! speaking of did u notices:
the first episode of the new season Ned mentions Happy Time Temp. Agency, that was from the show Dead Like Me, directed by the same person as Pushing Daisies.
…dont forget about my red dress question above
This episode was awesome, as usual. I will be heartbroken if the show is cancelled. It is witty, sharp, heartfelt, and poignant, and it deserves a full season to let those qualities develop in full force. I LOVE THIS SHOW.
Emerson’s rulez!
I loved the episode! Waiting for the next one!
Heeeey!
Hug machine!
OMG i love pushing daisies so much they get better and better each week cant wait for next weeks x:P
OMG SAME!
