I don’t know the entire plot of this episode but I’m pretty sure it involves a castle. Anna’s costume will take your breath away. I can’t wait.

Ooo, this should be good. every fairy tale needs a castle.

It is utterly ridiculous that we have to wait three weeks for this show.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and the ratings boost from this past week will make ABC change there minds?

I remember that last season the Halloween episode was pushed back to 9pm for something that was on at 8 (and got lower ratings). Then the following week, the CMAs were on (like this year).

It was such a mistake to move/cancel a new show two weeks in a row. I think they’re making the same mistake this year.

  12. miaon 04 Nov 2008 at 1:42 pm

I AGREE ROCKERBABY! I will NOT be watching the CMAs nor any other crap that ABC puts on in place of this show to just further my support for PD.

this only 1 of 3 shows I look forward to watching ANY time!! & its the only one on ABC I watch.

Ugh, we’ve already had SOOOO many set backs & now 3 more wks! its so frustrating.

    also…
love the twin bros, Olive does look delicious in these pics & she’s being saved by Ned-again?!?! so glad to see the aunts back! I missed them much.

Holy pies, I’m dying already… why do we have to wait THREE WEEKS for a new episode? Now I know what withdrawal feels like… and I’m hating rehab.

    ABC is just evil.

  16. Kimberon 19 Nov 2008 at 7:55 pm

This episode looks amazing!!! My love for this show knows no bounds!

  17. Jesson 19 Nov 2008 at 8:14 pm

This is such a great episode guys! I was lucky nd it was “A channel” ( a section of CTV) and got to watch it on Tues instead of tonight! Of course I’m watching it again in about 50min or so, cause u can never have enough PD!

This episode really shows Ned becoming comfortable with his brothers and learning how to be a big brother, and a sort of father figure to them. It’s a really family oriented episode. What Ned does for Chuck at the end was SO romantic, one of the most heartfelt Pushing Daisies moments to date! One of my favorite parts was how instead of the black zooming in when switching scenes, they use a stage curtian, brilliant of the director. Oh but i must ask, WHAT was with that giant feathery thing Chcuk was wearing?? Who would wear that? It toward over making it look like a blackbig bird was hugging her.lol
She did seem to pull it off in some scenes though, afterall Anna Friel is simply gorgeous!

Anyway you guys will have to watch for urselves and respond back. No lies here guys, this is one epiode to really remeber!!

  18. Shardithon 19 Nov 2008 at 10:10 pm

Wow, did I start to cry in the last two minutes or so. So romantic, so wonderful, so heartbreaking all at the same time.

  19. Reneeon 19 Nov 2008 at 10:20 pm

Oh, oh, oh MY GOD! It just gets better and better! We just wrapped up Pie Night here at my house (where my family/friends and I get together to watch PD and eat a different kind of pie each week). Tonight’s dish? Why, Asian Pear with Gruyere Crust, of course! And, oh! the way Ned “brushed” Chuck’s palm through the glass as they listened to Lily role play. *sigh* Such heart. *^_^* Next week, as it will be the day before Thanksgiving, I suggested Pecan Pie…you know…’cause some people have Pecan Pie on Thanksgiving in addition to the usual Pumpkin and Apples of the world.

  20. Kateon 19 Nov 2008 at 10:33 pm

I started crying during the first few minutes because it was SO GOOD and just the possibility that this could be taken off the air for good was just too sad. I can’t bear it. But besides that, this was definitely one of my favorite episodes EVER!! The ending is adorable. I had on my classic “Daisy” smile of pure happiness that I get when I watch the show because I don’t know what else to do other than hug myself (a la Chuck when she sees Ned).
P.S. it’s really fun to watch the show with someone who’s never experienced the PD world before. The way their eyes light up and each time they laugh I want to yell “see? I told you it was awesome”. just thought I’d add that =)

I thought it was a pretty great episode. Nothing too insane going on (like the circus episode), it explained the necessary backstory without going too in-depth, and people who aren’t too familiar with it or the characters would still find it entertaining.

I’m desperately hoping that PD did well in the ratings department, but I’m kind of doubting it, what with the lack of advertising and Bones being on again. One of the friends I couldn’t get to watch PD texted me, laughing about some senile old lady on a plane that Booth and Bones were on. So it was probably an entertaining episode of Bones to boot.

Be optimistic: if we get the green light from ABC to produce more episodes, we’ll have less competition come January, as Bones will be shuffled to the Fox death spot (Friday evening) to make way for the insufferable American Idol. And people tend to get bored during AI commercial breaks (how many times can one person see a Coke, Apple, or AT&T commercial?!), meaning that they’ll be channel surfing. Especially during the results shows, which tend to get dragged on forever.

  22. Tootieon 20 Nov 2008 at 12:47 am

I thought it was a fabulous episode! I have to confess that my best friend tried and tried to get me to watch PD last year and I resisted (for whatever crazy reason!) But once I discovered it…it’s just so well written and beautifully acted and visually lush. It’s simply a thrill!

  23. Kath (Chuck)on 20 Nov 2008 at 12:57 am

I just finished watching and I’m in one of those euphoric dazes. As someone who was a little down on Ned at the end of last season, I really love the man the have made him in to this season. He’s strong and sweet and sensitive, but an absolute child at heart.

That scene in the end in the car is one of the most beautiful TV moments I have ever seen.

Having had the pleasure of meeting Lee on a few occasions I feel a little odd objectifying him, but sweet heavens above he took my breath away tonight. He was the embodiment of every classic film star of old. The man is just pretty. So damn pretty.

  24. Kathyon 20 Nov 2008 at 1:05 am

    Eeeeek!!!!

I’m so happy I can’t wait for next week. :-)

You have such an amazing cast on this show. I love watching

  25. danishon 20 Nov 2008 at 1:08 am

omg i think i spent most of this episode squeaking with delight because it was just so fabulous. i love the addition of ned’s half-brothers and lee pace is just the most adorable man on earth! and that scene with ned and chuck sitting in the car listening to lily and touching through the glass … i actually cried it was just too sweet. I am praying ABC saves this show. i’m going to go write them another e-mail right now.

  26. Kimberon 20 Nov 2008 at 10:17 am

Oh, oh, oh … it was FABULOUS! I loved this episode to pieces, and spent most of it oohing, aahing, and giggling. Emerson had me cracking UP! I love his “rats ass” that he was looking for, and so many other fabulous moments. The ending scene with Ned and Chuck in the car totally took my breath away and made me weepy at the same time. I can’t shake the thought that this show may end this year, so every single special moment brings me back to that and makes me extra weepy at the thought of losing this treasure :( Let’s hope ABC gets their acts together soon enough and gives this show a back order and 3rd season renewal!

  27. camon 20 Nov 2008 at 1:50 pm

This is a sad day for all Pushing Daisies fans in the overnight ratings :

last nights episode was watched by just 4.86 million viewers with a demo rating of 1.8/5 in the 18-49 demo and 1.8/6 in the 18-34 demo.

I am so sad, this doesnt bode well for the back nine of season 2

  28. Caioon 20 Nov 2008 at 3:00 pm

At this point,I´m hoping they air the remaining eps.Let´s contact Scifi and such channels and ask them to pick it up.

  29. Zeonon 20 Nov 2008 at 4:10 pm

Delightful! Is it just me or the cast somehow strangely resembles the Scooby gang (the real one, not Buffy’s) in this episode? Olive was totally Velma!

  30. Mauriceon 20 Nov 2008 at 6:47 pm

I loved this episode!! The role playing was SO sweet! Chuck n Ned belong together forever, WE NEED TO SAVE THIS SHOW!!

  31. jakeon 20 Nov 2008 at 6:49 pm

WHy do they even create that NIELSEN ratings if they wont count the number of people actually watching the show in the US. the 4.86 million rating only counts the number of nielsen watchers. Very inaccurate and UNFAIR :(

  32. mileson 20 Nov 2008 at 6:50 pm

i didnt even know it was on.. There was no commercials or any promotions of some sort from ABC. I missed the episode

  33. Jesson 20 Nov 2008 at 7:04 pm

Milesu misse he episode? How absolutely horrible! This is what happens when ABC does poor advertising. If they even BOTHERED to advertise once in a while, more people would watch it!

I’ve been telling all my friends about it to try and get friends. Unfortunatly my best friend had to study for a bif chem exam and couldn’t watch, but alot of my friends said they have heard of the show and seen a few episodes. I can’t get full absolutes as if they are going to watch, but i’m trying!

And OMG that scene at the end was sooooo romantic! I was getting all weepy. lol Throughout the whole episode i was grinning from ear to ear and wiggling with giddyness. At one piont i got up and happened to pass a mirror and noticed my cheeks were all flushed and my face all happy and smiley, thats what PD does to you!

This is such a great show, it CANT end!

  34. KellyHon 20 Nov 2008 at 7:05 pm

This is exactly what ABC wanted to happen. They did everything in their power to offset all the fan campaigning (leaks to “sources” about the cancellation having already happened, three week absence, no promos).

They needed the low numbers this week to justify a decision that had been made as early as October 2.

  35. Oliveon 20 Nov 2008 at 7:50 pm

    Oh Pushing Daisies,
How you continue to amaze me.
You get me through the week,
With your splendor and utter grandeur.
    With pleasure, I watch.
    I await the moment
When you show yourself once more.

    Until next Wednesday, my dear.

  36. **A**on 20 Nov 2008 at 8:52 pm

OHMYGOD! Its best week ever guy! That was a pretty awesome epi!!!! I ttly LOVE neds half brother, almost as much as i love ned!

  37. Rhubarbon 20 Nov 2008 at 10:31 pm

What an enjoyable episode of PD! It had such a lovely pace, a manageable number of characters (sans wonky names that confuse me), totally intriguing character development and the fantastic Fred Willard!…and that Best Week Ever guy too - bonus! i think it’s my 3rd fav episode of the series. = )

I’ve decided I can no longer ignore just how GOOD an Olive that Kristin Chenoweth plays. There are these little glimmering specs of character portrayal genius in each episode that this little lady pulls off with an effortless nuance that would elude many, many other actresses I reckon. Olive - …her finger pointing in the air and with wide eyed earnestness…”it MEANS, the killer knows how to make a sandwich…’ more wide eyed earnestness… Oh joy!

Yeah, and I agree with Chuck (Kath)…that Lee Pace… Oh dear, he was especially charming in this episiode - and for all of the above mentioned reasons. He makes my heart a-flutter…blush blush…= )

  38. Digbyon 22 Nov 2008 at 5:21 pm

Awesome episode - Fred Willard is just so freakin good.

LOVE the Ned/Chuck scene at the end… I had to rewatch it several times, just to absorb the beauty and sweetness. *sigh*

I’m totally confused about Chuck’s father, though. Vivian was engaged to her half-brother, Charles? And Lily had an affair with him? Or did he just know Lily’s secret, tell his military buddies, and adopt Charlotte as his own to cover for Lily? This episode seemed to imply the former, which is just ridiculous. Someone who gets it, please explain.

There were so many great moments, costumes, facial expressions - thanks to cast and crew! (Thanks for the scary moment when Olive was left with the “dead body” - this should have been the Halloween ep, for sure.)

  39. absyon 25 Nov 2008 at 2:09 pm

    about the charles thingy,
Chucks father Charles, had an affair with lily while he was engaged to vivian. lily went to the nunnery to have charles’ baby (chuck) while charles went back to the military and told his friends about the affair after lily gave birth charles came back and raised chuck saying that he had her with another woman and broke up with vivian. he said that chucks mother died, and after he died although according to vivian’s knowledge they had no relation, lily and vivian called themselves chucks aunts and raised her.

  40. absyon 25 Nov 2008 at 2:11 pm

I still don’t understand how lily, vivian and charles all have the same last name.
