about the charles thingy,
Chucks father Charles, had an affair with lily while he was engaged to vivian. lily went to the nunnery to have charles' baby (chuck) while charles went back to the military and told his friends about the affair after lily gave birth charles came back and raised chuck saying that he had her with another woman and broke up with vivian. he said that chucks mother died, and after he died although according to vivian's knowledge they had no relation, lily and vivian called themselves chucks aunts and raised her.

Awesome episode - Fred Willard is just so freakin good.

LOVE the Ned/Chuck scene at the end... I had to rewatch it several times, just to absorb the beauty and sweetness. *sigh*

I'm totally confused about Chuck's father, though. Vivian was engaged to her half-brother, Charles? And Lily had an affair with him? Or did he just know Lily's secret, tell his military buddies, and adopt Charlotte as his own to cover for Lily? This episode seemed to imply the former, which is just ridiculous. Someone who gets it, please explain.

There were so many great moments, costumes, facial expressions - thanks to cast and crew! (Thanks for the scary moment when Olive was left with the "dead body" - this should have been the Halloween ep, for sure.)

What an enjoyable episode of PD! It had such a lovely pace, a manageable number of characters (sans wonky names that confuse me), totally intriguing character development and the fantastic Fred Willard!...and that Best Week Ever guy too - bonus! i think it's my 3rd fav episode of the series. = )

I've decided I can no longer ignore just how GOOD an Olive that Kristin Chenoweth plays. There are these little glimmering specs of character portrayal genius in each episode that this little lady pulls off with an effortless nuance that would elude many, many other actresses I reckon. Olive - ...her finger pointing in the air and with wide eyed earnestness..."it MEANS, the killer knows how to make a sandwich...' more wide eyed earnestness... Oh joy!

Yeah, and I agree with Chuck (Kath)...that Lee Pace... Oh dear, he was especially charming in this episiode - and for all of the above mentioned reasons. He makes my heart a-flutter...blush blush...= )

Oh Pushing Daisies,
How you continue to amaze me.
You get me through the week,
With your splendor and utter grandeur.
With pleasure, I watch.
I await the moment
When you show yourself once more.

Until next Wednesday, my dear.

This is exactly what ABC wanted to happen. They did everything in their power to offset all the fan campaigning (leaks to "sources" about the cancellation having already happened, three week absence, no promos).

They needed the low numbers this week to justify a decision that had been made as early as October 2.
