Kristin Chenoweth’s Oscar Performance of ‘That’s How You Know’
In case you missed it, here is the impeccable Ms. Kristin Chenoweth performing “That’s How You Know” from ‘Enchanted’ during the 80th Academy Awards ceremony. Applause all around.
Special thanks to Pushing Daisies fan Pibby for sharing this with all of us via the Pushing Daisies LJ community.

You know I love me some Cheno and she sounds great… BUT this is the worst song ever created. I want to kill myself listening to this hideous song.
Hey! I like this song!
I was actually just thinking that towards the end her voice gets very shakey and…kind of bad. On the long notes.
I love Cheno and her voice. But I think maybe she was nervous or something.
I agree…I haven’t seen Enchanted and the songs are probably better in the context of the movie, but ICK! Kristin Chenoweth did do a nice job though. I am so glad that “Falling Slowly” won! I just LOVED that movie and those two could not be cuter.
I love me some Cheno, but the performance just seemed … off. I saw “Enchanted”, and in the movie the song works perfectly, and Amy Adams carries it off very well. But Cheno did it with an operatic tone, and I don’t think it worked in the context of people dancing around her, etc.
None of the musical performances were really superb, except for the choir one from August Rush. That was entertaining, and the little girl can sure belt a note!
I really love that song, and in the context of the movie it works really well. Last night’s lack of production value during the musical numbers made them boring rather than the much needed break they could be.
I didn’t think the performance came off well, and I too thought Kristin seemed a bit nervous. But hey, she is still super talented and I was happy to see her representing the Daisies last night. It was ABC, you think the could have introduced her as ‘Tony award winner and one of the stars of Pushing Daisies….Kristin Chenoweth.’
I love Cheno but that was terrible!!! No offense. She has done betterwork. i love enchanted! and love that song!! But Amy Adams pulls it off 100% better!!! She sings and acts the part better. She should have done both songs. i was really dissapointed!
I really liked the performance, but she was already shakey in her red carpet interviews, talking about how nervous she was, so maybe that came through a bit — she mentioned somewhere that, when she gets nervous, “her opera voice comes out.” I thought the song still sounded good with that voice (a stronger voice and less character, maybe, than Adams uses), but I’ve only seen the clip of Amy Adams singing the song, not the movie, so maybe I just never got that full effect.
