Ned here at ThePieMaker.com was first introduced to Lee Pace not from Wonderfalls like many of you were but from a small indie film called Soldier’s Girl which was released in 2003 as a Showtime original film.

Soldier’s Girl is a horrifying yet inspirational film about a young soldier that falls in love with a transsexual performer. It’s the true story of the amazing Calpernia Addams and Barry Winchell and one that will leave you chilled to the bone at the brutality of humanity. Calpernia was once in the military herself, she was a medical specialist in the Navy and also the Marines and served our country during Desert Storm. Calpernia now lives in Los Angeles and is an Author (Mark 947), Actress (Transamerica, Deadwood, CSI) and activist. She basically rocks the house and is one hell of a pinup model as well!

Lee embodies Calpernia and his performance is so genuine and honest that when I saw the film 4 years ago, I could not believe that Lee Pace was not actually a transsexual himself. An unbelievable performance in an unbelievable film that you all have to put into your Netflix que or go rent this weekend.
