PUSHING DAISIES “Girth” Ratings

Published by The Pie Maker at 11:58 am under Pushing Daisies Ratings

The complete breakdown of the ratings for “Girth” are still coming through the pipeline but I wanted to quick give you the rundown from MediaWeek’s Marc Berman.

Week five of ABC’s Pushing Daisies won the 8 p.m. hour, but 8.58 million viewers and a 2.6 rating/8 share among adults 18-49 is a series-low for the critically acclaimed drama. Comparably, that was a decrease of 1.09 million viewers and 19 percent among adults 18-49 from one week earlier (Viewers: 9.67 million; A18-49: 3.2/ 9 on Oct. 24).

I would blame it being on Halloween night and everyone out and about for the lower ratings, especially since it still won the hour.

    Vance,
You make a great point. If there was a show that was going to be hit by the holiday it would be the one in the 8 o’clock hour when many parents are still out with their kids trick or treating.

Considering that this aired on Halloween at 8pm, yup, not surprising. The DVR numbers will probably be pretty good for this one.

Halloween played a huge part! I hope the show can add a bit more drama to it. I love the quirky nature of the show but it may be too much for some. I’d like to see some tension between Chuck and Pie Maker perhaps with new man in the mix

I completely blame Halloween! PD airs at 7 pm in my time zone, and that’s just way, way too early for any trick or treaters to retire! (Unless you’re obsessive like me, and gave up Halloween altogether to stay home and watch like a loyal viewer!)

I’m a bit embarrest to say I DVRed it. I momentarily decided to ditch my friends for PD, but apperently their still mad from the last time…
I think ratings will pick up, I’m not too worried.

I had to DVR the show this past Wednesday as I was handing out candy, so I’m sure that’s the reason for the ratings drop.

The whole absent father theme hit home for me, as I’m sure it did for many sons of emotionally or physically absent sons. Ned’s attempt to get closure by talking to the sisters was comforting.

Then another heartfelt gesture for closure between Chuck and the sisters really got to me at the end. I’m guess I’m just an old softy.

Oh, I meant to say “The whole absent father theme hit home for me, as I’m sure it did for many sons of emotionally or physically absent FATHERS.”

And no one has commented on the LOL name of the famous horse race, “Jock-Off”. What a hoot! Kudos for ABC to allow some grown-up humor.
