Oh My Gosh!!!! So excited! I’m going to be the first to pre-order!!!!!!’
kind of expensive though. Oh well. It’s so worth it!!!!
It’s probably expensive because of the 3 unaired episodes.
    CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Piemaker, haven’t heard from you for a while!

  2. leonora619on 01 Apr 2009 at 5:07 pm

I’m so HAPPY!!! YEAH!!!! Do you think they’ll be at Comic Con to promote the DVD release? I know wishful thinking. I’ll just have to savor the Paley screening until the DVD release. This just made my day. YEAH!!!

  3. The Pie Makeron 01 Apr 2009 at 6:45 pm

I wouldn’t count on them being at Comic Con. Looking forward to meeting you at Paley.

  9. Jesson 02 Apr 2009 at 1:54 pm

This is great! finally we can get all the episodes on one DVD along with extra tidbits to wath over and over again! It’s kind of expensive tho… but hopefully worth it!

  10. Vickyon 02 Apr 2009 at 4:13 pm

The question is, will us over here in the UK get the special features? ‘Cause we had a fat lot of nothing with season 1, so I’m gonna have to get a american version imported so I can watch them!

  11. Reneeon 02 Apr 2009 at 6:14 pm

Really, Vicky? That seems so strange that they wouldn’t include the extras in the UK version. :/

  12. OCJennon 02 Apr 2009 at 9:31 pm

YAY! 2 weeks from Sunday ’til Paley!! What I really hope they have that they didn’t on Season 1 is a Gag Reel. Omigosh I bet a lot of the outtakes are hilarious! We’ll have to ask Bryan about that.

  16. Franon 03 Apr 2009 at 2:49 am

Yea! Wonderful news. I’ll get the second season together with the first, but I’ll have to wait a bit longer, cuz in Germany it won’t come out at the same date as in the U.S.
But anyways, I’m excited to hear, that PD made it on DVD!!!!^^

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! I can die happily now!!!!!!! I can’t wait to know the end!

  18. Samuelon 03 Apr 2009 at 12:25 pm

Why don’t you ask Bryan Fuller if he would consider doing Pushing Daisies Audio Books ? Could you emagion that ? Swoozie Kurtz , Kristin Chenoweth , Anna Friel and Ellen Green along with Lee Pace as Ned and Chi McBride as Emerson , joined by mental ‘Dooley’ Music - Pure Genius !!

    ***
The Latest S.F.X Magazine reveals that there will denfinatley be a monthly PD Comic BOOK !! and they are considering a moo-vie !

  19. Kelon 03 Apr 2009 at 1:18 pm

can I just say “SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!” This totally made my day/week/month/year!!

Now lets just keep crossing our fingers for SOMETHING like a movie. I’ll even take comic books or the audio book idea at this point.

I miss the birdhouse in my soul!

  20. Vickyon 03 Apr 2009 at 4:38 pm

Renee - yup really, there wasn’t anything on our DVD version apart from the 9 episodes themselves. I was very dissapointed!!

  21. kristinloveron 04 Apr 2009 at 12:30 am

Holy freaking yay! I am sooo exsited i cant even think of word!

  22. Chuck (kath)on 04 Apr 2009 at 9:04 am

Stephanie - To answer your question (no need to ask Bryan Fuller), PUSHING DAISIES will not continue on in the UK past the 13 episodes of Season 2.

  23. Kimberon 05 Apr 2009 at 9:27 pm

This is great news! I’m excited we won’t have to go through the summer without the Daisies on DVD. I have all of the eps so far on VHS, but it’s nice to have the DVDs, and the special features sound fun!

  24. Leonora619on 07 Apr 2009 at 10:31 pm

Maybe just maybe a season 2 CD too? While the DVD is like the perfect slice of pie, a CD would be like having it a`la mode.

ABC Tv better hurry up before the DVD release beats them to it. I’m just hoping that the DVD audio mix is improved, over the aired episodes. I thought the background music tended to over power the dialog, at times. Thank god for captioning.

  27. Veronihikaon 29 Apr 2009 at 11:27 pm

last weekend I became the happiest person in a range about… 50.000 miles, Km or whatever, do you wannna know why? well. because I got the 1st season DVD in Colombia!
it was the ONLY DVD thwy got to that store and I, MYSELF got it!!!
I really really hope I get THAT lucky with season two, although I seriously doubt it…
please someone help me get that DVD!!!
I’ll pay you more that it will worth if you can get it to me!!!

  28. Heatheron 11 May 2009 at 12:21 am

I don’t know if this will help at all, but I finally gave in and bought a region free DVD player so I could play DVDs from the UK. It was only around $50 and I can play all those DVDs I can’t get in the States. I also order from Amazon.comUK - shipping is a bit more but not too bad. I finally gave up on some shows being released over here.
I know someone mentioned importing a copy, but not everyone knows how cheap region free players are.

  31. kris2peon 22 Jul 2009 at 12:30 pm

So are you saying Fuller will be on the Paley Festival?
How sure are you with this?

  32. kris2peon 22 Jul 2009 at 12:35 pm

Oh please ask if he is still interested in making a Movie about it?
    PLEASE!!!

  33. Katieon 23 Jul 2009 at 9:15 am

OMG! I was fast forwarding through the commercials on an episode of House and I saw a flash of Pushing Daisies and screamed “ITS NED!” at the top of my lungs! I went back and watched a very nice commercial for the season 2 DVD. At least somebody important still cares about the show.

  34. Samuelon 23 Jul 2009 at 5:51 pm

If You Guys do See Bryan , praise him for his fantastic work on bringing a fairytale pop-up book to life , Our Own Lil’ Gum Shu !

Bryan needs to know the following :

An Annual Pushing Daisies episode should happed once EVERY Christmas. Its a Origional idea , just like Pushing Daisies’s !

If we can feast ourself on Fantasic Visual Effects in the comics , we need something on the other side of the drawing board. Welcome to my idea of PD Audios. 1. The Cast can still be part of this (Swoozie Line …) WONDERFUL PIE ! and 2. So can Jim Dooley’s Music (now thats damh good) !! Aswell as the usual Writing Charm !

    Thank You.

    **********************
Does anyone know anything about the COMIC BOOKS???
    **********************

  36. Nikkion 24 Jul 2009 at 10:01 am

I hope they do a comic. I have too many questions left! What happened to Ned’s Dad? What happened to Chuck’s Dad? How did they know Dwight? What happened ot that lovely Alfredo? Please, it may be too much to ask, but some answer to these questions, and more, would be lovely!

  37. Katieon 25 Jul 2009 at 9:14 am

Well Nikki, two of your questions have already been answered in the show. Alfredo was a traveling salesmen, and he went back on the road to sell his organic drugs. Chuck and Ned’s fathers know Dwight because they were in the service together and served as peacekeepers in the middle east. Hope this info eases some of your heartache at the loss of a wonderful show!

  38. Zachon 29 Jul 2009 at 2:07 pm

im so glad i got my dvds!!!! i have been watching them pretty much non stop since i got them. it just makes me so sad that the world we’ve all come to love has been taken from us. i will always love the show though.

  39. Aaronon 04 Aug 2009 at 12:16 pm

I just finished watching the final 3 episodes and bonus features and it’s amazing how bummed I got afterwards knowing that there wouldn’t be anymore to follow.
Of all the TV series that have been cancelled over the years this show absolutely DESERVED in every right to stay on for years to come. What I would give to get this show back on the air.
Acting, directing, writing, music, everything was pure genius and came across so beautifully. Thank you everybody involved in the show for making quite possibly the best TV series of all time.

  40. Glenn E.on 06 Aug 2009 at 3:56 am

I totally agree with you Aaron. I think ABC-Tv was insane for canceling this series. I can remember it was little more than a year ago, right after the writers’ strike halted Tv productions, that Pushing Daisies was being roundly praised. And that the commitment for a 2nd season was considered a done deal, or a no brainer. So what the heck happened half way thru season 2, to kill the buzz?

It did seem like they lost some of their writing staff, and notable series touches along with them. The double names bit seemed to disappear, for awhile. Remember how clients’ and victims’ first and last names often rhymed? The music wasn’t as bright and magical as I remember. No more CGI’d swoops over perfect fields of grass and flowers (or far fewer). And they didn’t bring back Paul Ruben’s character and develop that “smell of death” plot angle, concerning Chuck.

Anyway, I too am sad that it’s all over. A great experiment in story writing and style. And I doubt we’ll see the like of it ever again. Or at least not for some time. When shows like this die, it’s usually about one thing, money. I’m sure it was costly to do, in order to maintain those extra unique qualities it had. Each Pushing Daisies episode was like a small movie. Both thrilling and whimsical. But Tv producers would rather have a one room sitcom, or a “reality” game show. They’re a lot cheaper. Quality always seems to be a deal breaker with Television. If they can’t cheapen it, in the 2nd season, and sustain high ratings. Then they just drop it entirely.

If Pushing Daisies had been done for a cable network, like HBO or USA, it might have survived. Most series that have continued for years, seem to have the syndication afterlife, that mostly cable Tv productions provide. It would be great if P.D. made the jump to cable. The way some other series did in the past. As long as it’s kept intact. And doesn’t end up being a shadow of what it use to be.

  41. Kateon 06 Aug 2009 at 10:52 pm

Hey, just wondering if anyone bought it on blu-ray. I’m a little bummed out that it doesn’t have a main menu or anything. The episodes just start when you put in the disc. And if you want to watch an episode that’s a couple ones in you have to just skip scenes or fast foward to get there. (practically like having it on an old VHS tape or something) I’ve tried using the “disc menu” button on my remote but all I get is an option to continue to play the episode. Just wondering if it’s my blu-ray player or if that’s how it really is designed. I have a regular dvd of season 1 so I wouldn’t know if it’s that way too. But I know my Chuck season 1 blu-ray is the same way. Any thoughts would be helpful, if only to my curiosity. Thanks!

  42. JanaBon 07 Aug 2009 at 3:23 pm

    Hi there !

I have the blu-ray set of season 1. But I don’t have any means to play those discs myself - had to visit my brother to be able to watch them (so I don’t have any real experience with these types of discs) ! Anyway, I had the same problem that you described (episodes started right away) - but my brother doesn’t use a stand-alone player, he has a blu-ray drive on his computer, which is connected to his big plasma screen (this show looks more than awesome on that screen !). I was wondering about the menu as well at first, but after a while I found this option, which was called “popup-menu” or something like that. On the remote my brother uses there is some kind of “information” button (maybe right-click with a mouse, but haven’t tried), to access things like the regular menus, audio options etc. - and also this popup-menu.

I can’t help you if you have a regular blu-ray player… but try Google and look for your specific type of player and how you can access the popup menu with it.

  43. Kateon 07 Aug 2009 at 11:31 pm

hmm… my remote has a popup menu option. I’ll try that. Thanks for the help! Here’s hoping it works!

  44. Kateon 09 Aug 2009 at 6:17 pm

    JanaB,

I hit “popup menu” on my remote and up popped this wonderful screen with all the episode titles and even some special features. It’s official, you’re my new favorite person! Thanks! Kate :)

  48. Jessyon 22 Jul 2010 at 12:52 pm

I noticed on netflix that there were 15 shows in season 2 but I can’t seem to locate the last two. Did they not film the rest of season two?
