PUSHING DAISIES: Water & Power - EXCLUSIVE
Tonight the second to last episode of PUSHING DAISIES airs on ABC at 10pm. I know all you loyal Pie-holers will be tuning in. I can’t believe it’s almost over.
Below is our sneak peek of the episode which we first posted last March.
Come back to ThePieMaker.com after the episode and join in on the conversation with other PD fans.
————-
ThePieMaker.com continues it’s sneak peek at the final 3 episode of PUSHING DAISIES with our semi-spoilery, screencap beauty of a post about episode 2.12.
“Water & Power” starts with a look back at Young Emerson Cod who had above average intelligence and a love for rules and regulations until one day mischief took over, proving “love makes you stupid.”
It’s hard to write about this episode because it’s steeped in Cod mystery, back story and intrigue - and we don’t want to spoil you on everything! Without giving too much away…
Simone, her clicker and her dog Bubblegum return as does someone that may or may not know the whereabouts of Emerson’s real life Little Gumshoe.
What else can we tell you?
While investigating the murder of Roland Raleigh Stingwell, Billionaire Builder of the Papen Country Water Pipe System and nemesis of Emerson Cod, more than one ghost comes back as more than one PUSHING DAISIES mystery is solved.
If you’re wondering about those folks back at The Pie Hole, don’t you worry! Even though this episode revolves mostly around Emerson’s past, present and future it also picks right up where “Window Dressed to Kill” left off.
Randy Mann continues to pursue his crush on Olive but a sticky swamp of emotions complicates things for the possible love birds. Ned and Chuck decide to help them along but Olive confuses Ned’s advice and decides Randy Mann is Randy Rebound which sends Ned on a mission to once again interfere with Olive’s love life and un-mix her nuts signals.
Oh and we almost forgot…
Two Words: Gina Torres
*geeks out*
While “Water and Power” isn’t the best episode of the series, it’s one that is essential to PUSHING DAISIES as a whole. Character backstory plays a huge role in the episode because as one pop-up book opens, another closes as we steam toward the series end.
ThePieMaker.com’s favorite moments and quotes from “Water & Power” after the jump…
Highlights from “Water & Power”:
- Rings Discovered Around Uranus! Scientists Plan Probes
- Ned: “What better place to nurture a romance than The Pie Hole? Warmth, pie, snuggly boothes… all the right ingredients.”
Chuck: “Love doesn’t need the right ingredients, it’s heartier than that.”
Ned: “You said heart-ier.”
- Olive: “Oh. My. God. I’m that girl! I’m that girl in High School that’s afraid of real relationships so she’s attracted to guys in College… or Canada.”
- The D-A-M (drop the N) Ruby
- Chuck: “Who the heck is Lila Robinson?”
Emerson: “She’s the baby mama that took my daughter.”
- Emerson: “You know you ain’t fooling nobody, right? I know that every secret I tell you has about 20 seconds before it spills out of your mouth into dead girl’s ears.”
Chuck: “Now that is not true.”
Ned: “It’s true!”
Chuck: “It’s true…”
- Facial hair, a thermos full of tomato soup and the thin line between stake out and make out.
- The Damn jokes are endless and never get old.
- Hearing Ned say: “You go girl!” damn near made me piddle
- Watching Detective Lawrence Puget go verbal toe to toe with the double talking Cod is like flm noir magic.
- The whole gang finally finds out about Penny!
- Simone: “She’s lying, look at her eyes.”
Emerson: “She’s lied so damn much her eyes look like that permanently.”
- The spit take!
- Olive: “You just blew a dog whistle full of crazy and I’m not a dog.”
- Ned: “Olive I have a question. Can love make you do something crazy?”
Olive: “I went to a nunnery…”
- Chuck tries to tell the truth about her having two birthdays but people just think she’s talking gibberish.
- The backtracking Mennonite lawyers capture the sheer genius of Daisies writing and casting. Oh how we’ll miss it all.
- One of the oddest damn first dates ever!
- Lila: “In my experience, when you’re hiding in the trunk of a car it’s best not to chat!”
- Crazy Ass She-Wolf
- Randy: “In time you might forget you ever bounced.”
- The return of “clearing” and “crossing” - this time in their underwear!
Once again, when ABC finally gets around to setting an airdate for the final 3 Pushing Daisies episodes, we will make sure you know when and where to sit down, shut your pie hole and cherish the second to last episode of Pushing Daisies ever.

I just skim over the posts quickly without reading it. I’m trying to save the experience of watching the last 3 for the Paley screening, but these posts will tide me over until the event. Wow I have a horrible time giving things up for Lent, but sticking to not watching the eps. until the screening, has stuck. Bad Catholic girl= Dedicated Pie Ho’… hah!
This is the first time I’m glad to live in Germany. Last wednesday we could watch the final episodes on TV. I have to say it was a wonderful ending for the show. I’m missing a little detail (don’t want to say too much) but all in all it was really great. Almost dropped a tear or two. Hope it won’t take too long till you can see it. Lee Pace’s german voices sucks, so I can’t wait to get it in english.
What the hell is that line about falling for guys in Canada supposed to mean? Canadian guys r hott! I should now, I am a Canadian girl!
Oh and that pic at the end with Chuck and Ned crossing in their underwear? Way to get my all riled up for that episode! Love ackward moments between charcters and random riggamorle dancing around, relases the air date ASAP!!!
Can someone just answer for me yes or no: does the emerson/daughter storyline get resolved before the end of the series?
@Jake
Yes.
Thank you for the response lilly
No problem. I hope you’ll enjoy the series final as much as I did

Happy as pie to do it.
wait . . . so when do i get to watch them on TV? i’m in the US. I wish I could go to Paley.
Thanks for this. Truly.
And Gina Torres? Awesome.
hey! i’m working on a paper about fan culture and Pushing Daisies. If anyone’s available to have a quick interview this week, I’d love to get people’s thoughts on the show! Send me an e-mail if you’re interested (rd935@nyu.edu). I really appreciate the help! thanks
I agree… Water and Power isn’t the best epi of the whole season, but it’s essential for the whole series. If someone wants to see the German spoken episode, let me know and I’ll post a link where you can watch it (:
(Same for the series finale and episode 12). I’m also writing on a translation for the people who’d love to see it, but don’t understand a single word German.
And I agree with Lilly, Lee Pace’s German voice sucks indeed. And I don’t like the other voices either, but after 10 minutes I felt like I had always watched the German epi’s and didn’t know any better (:
(I live in The Netherlands so I’ve seen the episodes with the original voices.)
Oh well, I REALLY hope you guys over there are soon able to see the final episodes, because I think they are great! And if you’d ask me, I’d say that even the final episode is great. I really liked the ending (except the FACT it’s the end.. - I only like the way they did it..)
x
Hey everyone!!!
I found a link on youtube that has both episodes 11 and 12 IN ENGLISH!!!!!
If you want to see episode 12 heres a link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZScDLbrRyE
For all other parts and episode 11 click on the publisher’s name and go to their profile. THey even have a little sneak peak of Kerplunk!
This episode was really great, and essential to the whole story line. We got to meet Lila and Penny, Emerson’s relationship with Simone grew even stronger (at least 2 or 3 on screen kisses!!), Olive is starting anew with Randy (honestly reallyl cute dispite the ackwardness), and Chuck and Ned are working out the little kinks and strengthening their love. Soo much going on in the last two episodes it’s really overwhelming! To be honest i didn’t find episode 11 all the great, but thats probably because im a Ned/Chuck fan, not a Nolive fan, and there really was alot of Nolive and a good amount of rocky relationship stuff with NEd and Chuck. They were totally together and freely speaking about “THeir love” (exact words from Chuck and Ned!!), so it was really great. I know im rambling, but this was a really great, emotion filled episode that is a must see!!!
So click the link!!!
I love living in the UK and having seen this episode yesterday :D:D
Even though this episode revolved around Emerson mostly, there are some great little Ned parts in there, like when he says ‘You go girl’ and when he gets stripped down to his underwear :D:D
I will see the season finale on Friday now, and I dont know whether Im exited or not because it means the end of the best show on TV

wahhhh!!!! I can’t believe its over :’(
I think Olive said it best when she spoke of soothing the pain, then ripping off the band aid and tossing it away. *sigh* I won’t ever toss this band aid away (…ew, gross…), but, everyone here understands what I mean.
Maybe after all of this, we should have an annual (every year!) Pushing Daisies convention where we all get together in a big city and watch all of the episodes over a three day weekend? What does everyone think?
Познавательно, а продолжение будет?
Sounds good to me! but difficult - i live in scotland….
anyway i just wanted to know if there was any more news on the movie idea as if i don’t get answers i might EXPLODE! I want the movie.. I want the movie… I WANT THE MOVIE… I absolutely love this show!
im doing an english talk on monday and its about Pushing Daisies! i know it’s not everyones cup of tea but i thought if i do a talk on the show i’d manage to convince a few people that the show REALLY IS GOOD and not to make fun of me for liking it so much!! Wish me luck!
We Pie Hos are all over the wide world! Guess we’ll just have to be content choosing a new country every year. Aw, schucks! *~_^*
I MISS DIGBY!!!!!
C’mon, PieMakers! You’re going to have to do it eventually. Where’s the post on the last episode?
…*U_U* So sad…
Да уж спорно, поспорил бы с автором…
It can’t be over… it just can’t… i was watching my season 2 DVD this morning and the ending is just not enough… what happened to us seeing who Ned’s dad is? and why he had to leave Ned in the first place? and do all the characters still remain friends although they are all branching off? these questions need to be answered…WE HAVE TO HAVE A FILM!!
*sniff* i miss this show sooo much!!!
