The two-week hiatus doesn’t matter. This is the crucial night, tonight. We’ve bashed ABC for not airing promos and seemingly giving up, but they have not dropped the axe yet. Were this show on CBS or FOX, it would have been gone already.

I guess we shouldn’t be too hard on ABC. FOX agreed to postpone the resumed World Series Game 5 tonight, so they’re airing the Obama speech too. That leaves ABC as the only holdout who didn’t accept the huge money to air the speech. That was a very bold move on the network’s part, and one they would have never made if they didn’t want to give Pushing Daisies one more big chance. So now is not the time to rip on ABC, even if they did give Private Practice a full-season order.

Best-case scenario has Pushing Daisies winning the night as the other three split viewership on the Obama event. If PD loses to one of the networks (likely CBS, as it is airing Old Christine afterward), that’s not a horrible thing, but losing to two or three would be very bad.

Cross your fingers, piemakers–tonight is the night. If you want to see Josh Randall as Charles Charles (and who wouldn’t?) the viewership gain has to be tonight.

Let us hope and let us pray…

However, I’m afraid we may lose any gained momentum in the coming weeks. I just checked the listings and Pushing Daisies doesn’t appear to be running next week or the week after due to Dancing with the Stars Results Show (bumped by election coverage on Tues, its regular night) and the Country Music Awards, respectively. O_o;;

What? ABC can’t ‘bump’ PD over too, or something? At least run some re-runs in the off hours to entice new viewers!

Pushing Daisies was nominated for 12 emmys!! for only 9 episodes. Things like this don’t happen for no reason and shows like this are a true gem in the hazy world of modern television. What more proof does ABC need that WE LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!

During the 8 o’clock hour, ABC’s “Pushing Daisies” for the first time defeated NBC’s “Knight Rider” in Adults 18-34 (1.8/5 vs. 1.7/5) and, for 4th week in a row, beat out the NBC drama by double digits across the Women demos: W18-34 +57% (2.2/6 vs. 1.4/4), W18-49 +32% (2.5/7 vs. 1.9/5) and W25-54 +17% (2.8/7 vs. 2.4/6).

* Opposite Fox’s World Series coverage in the hour, “Pushing Daisies” retained 100% of its Adult 18-49 audience week to week, while increasing its numbers among Adults 18-34 and across the board in the key Men demographics (M18-34/M18-49/M25-54).

Tear I’ve talked and encouraged everyone I’ve ever met to watch it, and tune in. All I can do is sit here and accept the fate of my life show, the only show my friends and I watch, the only magical amazing show worth watching!!! And pray.
PLEASE! WHEN PEOPLE ARE THIS PASSIONATE, YOU CAN’T LET A SHOW LIKE PUSHING DAISIES GO!!!

On the last option bright side, Pushing Daisies season 1 & 2 on DVD I can watch again and again. And lend out to show people what they let go!!!!!!!

BUT THAT BETTER NOT HAPPEN, COME ON EVERYBODY. actually, honestly and truly, I think most PD fans are doing everything they possibly can. It’s ABC that needs to have FAITH that ratings will get better. They just need to advertise, and change days, and bring in commotion and attention.

Sorry, Olivia–didn’t mean to assume anything. I just think that the campaign has been going on since early 2007 and I don’t see how buying up prime time real estate a week before the election is doing any good–and it kind of seems arrogant in a way. We’ve seen debates, conventions, the incredibly long primaries–it just seems like overkill.

But hey, if he helped out Pushing Daisies by doing it, I’ll be grateful.

That’s why I (obviously jokingly) said I’d vote for him if his message got lower ratings than PD.

I don’t care who wins the World Series. I just wanted there to be a sixth game. That’s all. I think it’s obvious why. If FOX airs a new Bones episode (having their own news channel, they’re not going to air the Obama message no matter what) I think that will very much cut into whatever gains the show can make tomorrow. Looks like the makeup 3-1/2 innings are going to happen tomorrow anyway, so at this point, it doesn’t matter who wins.
