PUSHING DAISIES: Window Dressed to Kill - EXCLUSIVE

ThePieMaker.com was invited to the L.A. screening of the final three episodes of PUSHING DAISIES. We’ll be sharing tidbits from each of the last eps over the next few days. This post contains spoilers although I tried not spoil the whole episode. Read at your own risk.
If you’re a fan of PUSHING DAISIES rapid, racing repartee and delicious, delightful dialogue then you’re in for a tasty terrific treat with “Window Dressed to Kill”. Not a single moment of screen time is wasted in this episode written by scribe Abby Gewanter. You’re going to need an extra cup of Joe to make sure you’re fully alert while watching as it’s jam packed with snappy dialogue, stunning visuals and more than a few recognizable guest stars, including Willy Garson, Constance Zimmer, George Segal, Sam Pancake, Wayne Wilderson and more.
Appearances can be deceiving. This episode is all about looking past the curtains of deception to find the true intent behind someone’s actions. Sometimes the reasons are good and sometimes not so much, but no matter what the reason deception can only lead to someone getting hurt…or killed.
Young Olive Snook was kidnapped during a family cocktail party by petty thieves Jerry Holmes and Roy “Buster” Bustamante. The two men were sent to prison for 25 years as a result of their deed. But before their time in the slammer was up, they pulled a Shawshank, and rather than heading to Zihuatanejo, Buster and Jerry set out to find Olive Snook - the little girl responsible for putting them in jail.

But, as we said, appearances can be deceiving. Pull back the curtain and we find that the young Olive Snook was a stowaway in the car that Jerry and Buster stole. They tried to bring Olive home but when she refused to give them any information about her life, they were stuck. A few days later they tracked down Olive’s parents and upon returning her to home they found out that her parents didn’t even know she was gone. Outraged at the behavior of Olive’s parents, Buster & Jerry shared a piece of their mind on better parenting. Not one to take that kind of criticism lightly, the snooty Snooks called the police and had Buster & Jerry carted off to jail for kidnapping, despite the Olive’s plea.
All these years later, the two bust out of jail and set off to find Olive, with whom they’ve been keeping in touch with through letters. Olive is happy to be reunited with the men, but her happiness is short lived when they realize the police are hot on their trail. Enlisting the help of Ned and Randy Mann (David Arquette), Olive sets off to get Jerry & Buster over the border and into safety. But their road trip to freedom in interrupted not only by a police roadblock but the roadblocks of deception caused by Olive herself.
Meanwhile, after the disappearance of Chuck’s alive again father, Ned has decided to give up waking the dead so as to just to live the life of an ordinary pie maker. This change of heart doesn’t make life any easier for Emerson Cod and his P.I. business. Lucky for Emerson, Chuck - the Alive Again Avenger - is on board and ready to help solve the case!
Emerson Cod and his new sidekick take on the case of one Erin Embry. Erin, along with partner Coco Juniper, created beautiful, eye catching displays in the windows of Dicker’s Department Store. The foot traffic attracted to the windows translated into big business for Dicker’s. So when Erin is found dead in a scene reminiscent of her last window display, a few eyebrows are raised and fingers are pointed (but not Ned’s finger because he gave up on that, remember?)
Eyebrows will surely be raised as Ned and Olive share the tenderest of moments in this episode. Good thing that Chuck is off investigating with Emerson because I don’t think dead girl would ever want to see just what happens between the pie maker and the pie waitress. Ned’s earlier “I wouldn’t say never” confession has left Olive a little more than confused about how the pie maker really feels about her. And it seems Olive isn’t the only one confused.

“Window Dressed to Kill” is the first of the final three episodes of PUSHING DAISIES, and I think it’s fitting that it’s one of my favorites to date. The over the top fantastical moments that fans of the show are accustomed to are offset by some warm, tender moments that make you fall in love with these characters just a little bit more…if that’s even possible.
Now on to a few other favorite moments and quotes to keep you guessing until the episode (finally) airs.
- It’s winter time. And in winter you wear gloves. And wearing gloves means you can hold hands with the one you love. Especially since without the gloves holding hands would mean certain death.
- Ned: Who wants to be Superman? Not me. I say no to super and yes to man. I’m Clark Kent.
- Buster: What do we always say about the past?
Olive: It makes an ass out of you and me.
- The return of Randy Mann (David Arquette) led to some great male bonding moments between he and Ned. This was more of the role that Bryan Fuller imagined for David. He envisioned Randy sticking around as Ned’s new best friend. Randy will play an important part going into the series finale, “Kerplunk”.
- Ned: Me and Olive love each other very much.
- Lily: The only thing that smokes in this house is the gouda.
- Emerson: How long do you think she’s been dead?
Coroner: Oh, about $50.00
- Cheno fans rejoice! Olive sings!. This particular song was unexpected and beautiful.
- Olive: We need to back off on the PDA because Vivian’s Ps & Qs have gone AWOL and I can’t take much more of what I just took before I’m DOA.
Ned: Olive, use your words.
- Look for the return of Pigby, Mother Superior and Olive’s friends from the nunnery.
- Amazing and I mean amazing special effects in this episode. One in particular that is perhaps the biggest special effects moment in the history of the show. Very cool.
- Olive: You try on a sweater at the mall. You try on your best friend’s bra and you smile on the inside because yours are bigger and better.
- Ned: I’m Superman. I’ve got a finger faster than a speeding bullet. Come on, who can I touch?
- The very last scene made my stomach flip just a little bit. Whether you are a Ned/Olive shipper or more of a Ned/Chuck kind of person you’ll be left thinking, HUH?!
How’s that for a tease?! I hope I didn’t give away too much. I can’t wait until all of you see it so we can properly discuss. Let the speculation begin! Remember to continue to write to ABC is support of airing the final three episodes of PUSHING DAISIES!

Ooooh how exciting!! Think the Olive/Ned/Chuck situation is the most intriguing at the moment!! Should only be 5 sweet weeks until I can see this. At the same time though knowing its one of the last I don’t want to arrive in another sense. I’m so going to cry lots and lots on the last episode.
UGH! i NEED to know when this is coming back!!!!!!!!!
Awesome Teaser, I really want to know like word for word the ending scene!!!
I’ve got the clip of Olive singing on my computer! And the scene right before that.
It’s quite beautiful, intense, AND FRUSTRATING.
Hey i watched the whole episode on youtube but unfortunitly everything exsept olive singing is in German so i couldnt understand it. But just from watching it and the summery that was on the side of the episode it is defintly my new favorite episode i even cried alittle It leaves your stomach jumping at the last secne and you are really confused but you can watch the whole episode in German on youtube just make sure to check the whole summerys!

When do we get to see it?
Thanks PieMaker(s) .. and Pie Lover for that extra clip! Olive singing = awesome. But the Ned/Olive bit? *sniff*. I’ll admit, I do love the triangle, but I’ve been rewatching S1, and I am a die-hard Ned/Chuck shipper. The thought of something going on between Ned and Olive, and the way it will hurt Chuck leaves me very sad.
That said, this episode sounds amazing! The return of Randy Mann, and Mother Superior (aka Karen Tyler) and Pigby have got me super excited!
Thanks so much for posting!!!
But ugh… as if I didn’t want to see this episode enough already….. Now it’s just plain torture!!!
Thanks for the quotes! Makes that whole hour I spent watching this ep in German that much more meaningful.
I miss this show..I miss how it makes me feel. Giddy, excited, romantic…nothing will ever replace it in my heart.
I totially here u Katie and agree 10000000 percent =(
Me too. I don`t want this show to end. It is so frustrating. Why isn`t there a higher power preventing this wonderful show from its ending.
SPOILER ALERT!:
Guys! It’s fine, phew!
Olive lies to Jerry and Roy that she’s engaged to Ned and they play along…well, that’s what I heard last…
YEAH! I knew Ned would NEVER EVER EVER kiss Olive for anything other than her forcing him to or a scheme! Praise the Lord! That’s all I can say!
Hey, I’m not sure how many ppls watched the German dupped ep 11 but I was so confused about the rhinoceros thing, but I totally just got that it was dead and Ned brought it back to life then touched it again. Haha, I just though I’d mention that incase anyone else was clueless like I was haha. I wondered why he was laying on it and it wasn’t waking!!! And why he decided to use his finger again!
***SPOILERS*** (but honestly who cares at this point! We ALL want the episodes!!!)
PUSHING DAISIES EPISODE 12-”WATER AND POWER”

Hey, I’m another German Pushing Daisies fan.
The last two episodes (2.12 and 2.13) will air in two days and I’m incredibly sad it’s all over now.
Do you guys know if there’s any chance for a movie left? I’d so go there - at least ten times!!
Window Dressed to Kill is up on Youtube, but it was in German, but I still enjoyed watching it. It was a great Nolive episode :p
Btw Danny actually Jerry and Roy asume Ned is her fiancee and hug him but actually Olive never told them that he was but Ned went along with it and was like yeah…
Amazing!! Thank you!! love that david Arquette is coming back too!!
You have no idea how happy those fresh Pushing Daisies screenshots make my eyes feel! I must watch this! Anyone with a bootleg version please post a link!

I´ve recorded and uploaded the last 3 episodes, cause I wanted to SHARE. Simply, because it makes me happy that the PD-Fans, who don´t get the chance to visit the Panel and watch the last episodes with Bryan, get a chance to watch the last 3 epsiodes too. Even though it´s in German.
If the last 3 episodes were aired somewhere else I would have been happy too if s.o. else whould have uploaded and shared them.
But PIEMAKERS - you just delete my posting with the download-links without telling why!
And suddenly you´re publishing infos, caps and dialoges from the last episodes. Although we already asked you several weeks ago to give us some hints…
It´s okay, cause I guess you were forced to take a move as we here in Germany got the chance to watch the last episodes before anyone else (except of you).
But I think it would have been fair to tell me why you delete or even don´t publish my posting (that one with the screen caps).
Anyway, it´s over. PD´s over.
So this will be my last posting here too.
I wish you all a nice time at the Panel!
OMG a tease is right!! When is this show coming back, I am absolutely dying of anticpation! Im more of a Ned and Chuck fan than a Nolive fan, but this episode soudns very intriging!
ABC better release the episods soon, or they are going to get some nasty e-mails!
The first two parts of Window dressed to kill in German is translated on Youtube. Just search it and a link should come up. It kinda hard to watch and read at the same time but it’s something!!
Oh and on each part of all three episodes there is an explanation of whats going on in english under the read more part on the side. So if you want to read what happens in the episode thats where to go!
Can’t wait until the english ones come out in the UK so i can really enjoy them on youtube!
The Final season, season 2 has been cancled after Ohh ohh ohh it’s Magic because it got bad rateings. But the final episodes will air May 30 at 10:00 pm-9:00pm C.
Don’t miss The Pushing Daisies movie
Pushing Daisies the movie.
hay whats going on when are the last 3 eps being aired apparently its the 30th of may but it cant be that far away im getting withdraw simptoms i need pushing daisies even more than chocolate (and for me that certainly is novel ) hay ive sodenly had a very sobering thort if i cant cope without PD for 5 weeks than how cope without it for ever aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely loved the last scene, and it made my heart flutter. I am definitely a Ned/Olive shipper. The sad thing is, there’s only two episodes left. And due to that, it is highly unlikely that Olive gets a happy ending with Ned. Goshdarnnit, if PD had only been given one more short season, all these loose ends could actually be resolved!
All in all, this was an excellent episode. It just reminded me how lively, mermerizing, and beautiful this show is.
there are english versions on youtube with turkish subtitles, posted by “flimmi”

По-моему, данная тема довольно сложная для новичка
I would SO love to be the vehicle wrangler on this show. Mann’s van is a great example of automotive oddness.
(The rest of the ep is great too - there’s 10 minutes left…)
Fantastic episode! I loved all the hand holding, and Ned and Chuck enjoying an evening walk with Digby and Pigby. I knew it would make me sad (recalling that PD is no more), but it also made me feel thankful that we got to see this gem in the first place. I’ll be rewatching the episode tomorrow, because I always seem to catch things the second time ’round, and probably a few more times before the DVDs come out too.
Also - the preview for next week? Yippee! Did I spy Gina Torres as Mrs. Emerson Cod? That is awesome!
ok, holy crap (mother superior haha), happy for olive that she is with randy, but whoa, ned jealous!? I loved how ned accepted his gift, that was awesome. and did anyone else think that anna friel looked just smokin hot and the end of the episode?
great episode in general, very funny, great character stuff, and as the a la mode to the great pie, a nice murder mystery/great escape! Pushing Daisies is going out with a bang!
Oh, and the next episode is, as appears and in PD fashion, going to be fantastic
Great episode, can’t wait for the next two!
Any word on the comics? I know, it’s not the same, but I’d rather have that than nothing at all.
A movie would be ideal, but I’m not sure that’ll happen.
AHHHH! It came back on last nite!!! I have waited for soooo long, it was totally worth it! I LOVED IT! Does anyone know when the next episode will be on? Same time next week?
why are they doing this to us? just like teasing a child…..why does it have to end?????? It was the best episode yet!!!!!!
So…about that last note…”jealousy”.
In my own, firmly Ned/Chuck-shipped mind, I justified it thus (even though I know it isn’t what it’s meant to come across as): Ned is jealous that Olive gets to hold the hand of her beloved?…
Ehh. I know. But we all know how this ends, so why did they throw in this weird note???
if anyone doesn’t want to wait for te last two episodes of you go on surfthechannel.com they have all of the second season even the unaired ones and they are all in english
Best episode ever!! I could hardly wait all month to see this episode. It made hate so much ABC, especially because it was my favorite network, I guess I have to flip to another channel.
Can anyone else emagine Olive Snook singing 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton !?
“work’in 9 to 5 la la la” i can tell you kristin does do a mean dolly parton but, for this show the last song was all ready aired sry!!
The episodes just keep getting better the closer it gets to the end… sadness of life!!!
Sooo goood!!
I still hope there is some hope for a movie (;
