Who’s The Gay Pushing Daisies Character?

Kristin Chenoweth to Sing at the Academy AwardsDan here with a juicy little tidbit I’ve sat on for quite some time… It’s a secret that I wasn’t able to spill for fear of Bryan Fuller bitch-slapping me into Coeur d’Coeurs and luckily I didn’t have to, someone else did!

There has long been a rumor that one of the characters in the Pushing Daisies world is gay. Way back in the early days of the show, series creator Bryan Fuller told me that it was NOT one of the main characters but that one day he/she would be revealed.

I finally got that answer I was looking for and I vowed not to tell a soul…

Well, the good folks that I work for over at AfterElton.com have gone public with Bryan’s answer and I didn’t even write the article or give them the scoop!

Want to know who’s got a crush on our favorite knitter Emerson or possibly even our beloved Pie Maker? Head on over to AfterElton.com to find out! While you’re there, check out the video they posted from our red carpet coverage of the NYTVF Premiere of Pushing Daisies.

Ha! I was just going to email you about this, but then I read your comment over on afterelton.com, and figured you already knew - and you did!! I’m all for the gay character on PD (but sad it isn’t Chuck or Olive. Oh well! A girl can keep dreaming…). Also neat to find out that DLM’s George’s dad was originally written as gay - because I thought I got that feeling from the first few eps!

Thanks for sharing with us, Dan!

Wow, thankfully this site didn’t get the reaction that I saw in another site’s comments….I cannot believe the Homophobic trash that could come out of supposed Pushing Daisies fans. The hypocrisy and complete lack of awareness would be funny if it hadn’t been so shocking.
“Just when I thought that this show was different, they have to pull out the proverbial homosexual role. ”

“Does anyone feel like the world is run by the gay population? They always have to be put into every show and into every situation and everything is made to accommodate them. Has anyone realized that the population of Gays in the world is like .001% Why on earth do we cater to them? Don’t make the coroner gay. Stop conforming to the minority population. ”

“why do you have to put *****ts in every damn show on tv like its normal when all acuallity most people are offended by it. ”

“I’ve told all my friends how unique this show is, and how it is different than anything else on TV…Guess not. Everyone has to have that “gay” character that slowly though the season “comes out”. Can’t we choose a new plot? I thought the writers for pushing daisies were a little more creative than that”

    I mean…I still can’t grasp it.
